I make characters that look like the character I had in my had when I thought them up. Sometimes they're attractive, sometimes they're ugly and everything in between.   The times that they're attractive, it's usually through my own lens as opposed to "attractive to others".    Generally thought, I'm more focused on making them look interesting and unique rather than attractive.

for purely cosmetic reason especially on heavy armor classes.. would put max height & size to make the armor/costumes stand out with all the flashy details..excessive facial hair a must since it adds flavor when using helmets.

    yea... no.

i make female chars because i will have to watch em from behind for quite some time :)
and quite frankly, i rather stare on a female ass than a male.

(tho my rogues have always been male... main is main)

I usually create a female because i like to dress myself up and put stuff on my face, it's still about what's attractive to me in the end. I've never thought about making a male character even though I'm hetero and attracted to dudes. I suppose in games like warframe where everything looks freaky and I can't play dress up to a comparatively large extent I do gravitate towards attractive male frames like ash and excal, they got pretty great butts.

I'm usually Bacon on all the games I play, so you can imagine what direction the looks go :pleased:

If I don't random my characters appearance then I try to make him look as weird and goofy as possible.

I want my character to look good. I think that results in the character being attractive to someone.

What my character looks like doesnt matter one iota...Most of the time all we see is the back of the toon anyway

While I appreciate an in-depth character creator, I usually just hit random a couple times and carry on with my day. I have never given it much thought to be honest as I assume, most people could care less what my toon looks like. I certainly don't.

Which having said that I do like nice scenery, and as I stated I do like an in-depth creator, yet I never spend much time 'crafting' my toons appearance. Weird.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

This is roughly my approach. I try to make characters that fit the role I envision playing them as. As very generalized examples: a mage/caster might show some signs of age whereas a melee fighter might have some disfigurement from past battles. That said, the game's lore, in respect to things like magic use and such, may change how I think about the appearance of certain roles. Character creation is really just an attempt to portray the characters intended role and personality and I enjoy the process of finding just the right look. If other people dig the results, so be it, but that's not what I shoot for.

My avatar here is one example from Eve. I'm not sure it would be considered 'attractive' in a conventional sense, but it did hit the mark of how I envisioned that particular character. I was going for a scummy/doesn't shower much look, but in hindsight, that's pretty generic for that game. (j/k)

Why would you stare at an pixel ass ? There is so much action of the screen but you choose to stare at a pixel ass. Terrible excuse !  I bet your one of those wow played who never seems to avoid  Dmg effect on ground xD

I guess that I do... I create characters that appeal to me.  If the character is female then I suppose I would make them attractive.  Regardless, I think in most games you're at the mercy of the creation tool which generally means that all of your options are either attractive or all of your options are average to ugly.

On that note, a fair amount of my enjoyment of a game comes from whether or not I like my playable character.  I will choose races based on hair options.  I will go so far as to quit a decent game if I don't like my character.  I think this is why I struggle with games like Uncharted and The Witcher.  I dislike the main character so much that it impedes my game play and I can't stay absorbed.

I know it sounds absurd, but I associate it with my immersion factor.

Like i said it isn't tinder, it's a mmo, I don't make characters to appeal to another player, male or female..

I prefer characters that fit in whatever lore of the game that i'm playing. IE i'm not going out of my way to make a slooty female character just out of some fetish. I know some people are into that but i personally am not.

Regardless of what type of character it is, I want all my character to fit in the world they live in. It does not require trying to attract another player.

Years ago, I would play WoW with my wife, we would sit together and she would watch me play and be the voice of my female character on teamspeak.  We were in a large guide and it had several nice benefits:

    1. She was not into the game but loved to socialize and talk to people so it was a way we could do something together and both enjoy it

    2. Lonely nerds would just randomly give our character stuff.  I'm not kidding, every other day I would log on and someone was mailing us some gold, weapons or armor.

    3. Our character was invited to all the raids and dungeon crawls, some people would even drop out to make a slot for us.

I dont know if things are like that any more but in the early days of WoW, female characters always got treated like queens, especially if they were an actual female.

I create my character to be attractive to me.  Generally I'm the opposite sex of my character, but that's not really the relevant factor...

Well in WoW, female characters get free items, gold and are treated a lot nicer. You can even tell the guy/boy you are a guy, and he will still treat you like a female and give you stuff. I never even pretended I was a female, I always said I was a guy but liked looking at blood elf female butts more than males (though male forsaken/undead are awesome, same with Worgen). But still got free stuff, and even though I kinda sucked at raids, they treated me nicer than the "male" characters that sucked at raids (even though one of the male characters was actually female, which was funny)

This is not universally true.  Female taurens, for example, get pretty much ignored.

True, some race females were not very popular choices in WoW. Tauren females no one cared about. Undead females get laughed at for some reason, see less of those than tauren females too. Orc Females actually treated like a guy, but often people said something similar to "wow an orc female, don't see much of them"

Blood elf females get treated the best by far of any race/gender combo in WoW, and also people compliment transmogs on them the most. I often get people sending me whispers with compliments. Or free items. Or free gold. Next would probably be draenei females, but people don't say much about transmogs on them and surprisingly get mostly ignored compared to blood elf females.

Really, the only race/gender that gets the most positive treatment, whether you suck in a group or not is a blood elf female. I did some troll-like things in raid groups (on purpose to see how people reacted), and people jumped at the opportunity to help and give advice on what to do better, even though if I was ever asked I told them I was a guy or just acted myself.

For males, blood elf males and panda males get treated by far the worst in WoW. As a blood elf male, I'd often get trolled, same with panda males. Panda males get treated the worst of any race/gender combo. Panda females get largely ignored, though sometimes compliments, sometimes insults, but not nearly as much as a panda male does.

I dont create a character on looks, however, in my 'family' of toons, i always have Quazal, and Quazaline, who both have a bit of back story.
Their looks are usually similar, however Quaz, tends to go for the more Gandalf style look if they dont have dredds then all other facial features are White, so beard, eyebrows, and even eye color. but if dredds are in their game design then i go with the Twins from the matrix styled look

Quaz'line- She tends to go all white hair, but then dark make up, tattoos, lipstick, her hairstyle ranges from Dredds to very long flowing locks

The looks aren't important more then shared features between my 'family'

This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

i try to make a character that is appealing to me.  There are too many opinions on what is attractive to make one attractive to others.  You aren't being paid money so you might as well do what you like.

I create a character that I want as a digital representation of me in the game. Just like you do your hair and and choose your clothes etc. based on the image you want to present to people you meet during the day I make those choices based on the image I want to present to people I meet in-game.

As someone in a happy relationship I have my own distinct image but I do tweak it to be slightly more appealing to the woman I'm with. As someone in a happy relationship with a gamer I also tweak my avatar's image to appeal to her on occasion.

I make a character that appeals to me.

Usually I pick out a theme - I enjoy exploration, so I usually go for a wild adventurer female look. A character close to nature is exciting to play. Spending time on the character also brings me closer to the lore and the game world.

As a byproduct, I'd imagine others find the character attractive as well. It's definitely easier to play a female character. Others generally treat you nicer and go out of their way to help you out. While not my main motive, I don't mind having an easier time making friends.

I make my characters look the role I'm going to play. Warriors are big and muscular. Mages, tall, thin and pale. Rogues are small and thin and look very agile. Simple as that, really.
