Would be not to hard? I can see the problem if it was PS4 only to start with. FFXV is going to be on Xbox One too. Pretty much is a PC in a box with locked FPS.
The fact that they're even talking about a PC release like this is a good thing for us PC gamers. It means that Microsoft's platform-agnostic approach to XBox ( as a service ), and the shift by both they and Sony to multi-platform servers, may well actually be paying off. And after the failure that was GFWL, that's pretty impressive stuff.
Obviously there will still be exclusive titles, but the big franchises moving to console AND PC is a brilliant shift, frankly.
like one of my profs once said, you don't start developing a game for multiple plattforms AFTER another. either you start with it right from the beginning, planning ALL versions, or you will fuck up anyway.
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
FFXV needs to stay on console only. PC games nowadays just get hacked to pieces. i was a huge mmo and PC only player. now i play more xbone and ps4. sure the PC is a better gaming rig, but i like playing games the way the developer intended and not filled with mods and hacks.
This is true plus you get jaded moaning PC players who still think that PC games rule. This is the time of the consoles, more davs are making games for consoles.
Don't get me wrong PC's smash console graphics but does it really mean that much in our days. I have Mafia 3 ( defo game of the year potential by the way) on PS4 and it looks and plays great.
The PC version looks really great but sitting on my leather sofa and playing on my smart tv out weights that.
I have a top line PC but hardly ever use it unless I'm playing MMOs you can't get on consoles.
" Much of the complexity would be in adapting the current console engine for PCs."
Some Grade A BS if i ever heard it, Console games are made on pc's and usually are toned down to fit there limited console systems where as PC have unlimited power and potential do to the customizable nature of it. Someone said they might be Double dipping, news flash they are because DIE-HARD fans who own both console and pc will eventually get both versions.
I own every Final Fantasy game ever made to include ones not released in the US. I don't mind these games not coming to PC as fast. This has and always will be one of my games I prefer to play on consoles in the living room. Most PC ports are never as good as they are for the system they were designed for and vice versus.
We are getting closer and closer to just having PC's with different names on them now, but we are not quite there yet as consoles tend to have older hardware than what most PC gamers use. The whole idea of console play today is to have something designed from the start to work with that system. You can't really do that with PC games because hardly anyone has the same system or settings. That is why PC development is harder than most console development. And why ports almost never work on all systems.

Bang on the money, soon the penny will drop that this is the time of the consoles. Why fight it and complain when you can just join the party.
If you like gaming then you should also like any format that game comes on. Why would I miss out on a game because I'm against one format or the other.

Again i have to go back to my initial pont

Mafia 3 for example, was limited to 30fps because most CONSOLES find that acceptable, where as a pc that might not meet the minimum requirements can be upgraded to exceed it. This isn't a debate whether one is right or wrong its just logistics and the nature of both beast.
Is this a real statement ---->I have Mafia 3 ( defo game of the year potential by the way) or are you j/k?
I suspect the game will have been developed on servers powered by SAP or Oracle, Microsoft Server and so on. Such solutions are common in bigger companies and they offer a lot of processing power. If they are designed on PCs they won't be your average household PCs and won't necessarily run Windows.

i play games on xbone, ps4 and PC. i prefer to play on ps4 but if the the game is an xbone or PC exclusive, then i can still play. im a GAMER, not a PC gamer or a console gamer.
The thought of Final Fantasy reaching a point where it's a story about 4 emo hair dudes on a road trip doesn't really make me angry that this won't be coming to PC soon.
Or go watch the movie if you want context before playing the game.
I saw it and agree with the guy you quoted.
Hell the movie may even hurt the game as tbh I think the main guy in the movie that dies should have been in the game not some spoiled little emo punk. I already dislike the main character in the game just because of the movie.

Strange I play my pc games with better graphics etc from my couch, just like I use to from consoles. I even have a ps3 controller I can plug in and work great for the games I prefer to using kb/mouse.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

Well my point was regarding WHY they were on a "road trip".
The movie itself was nothing special but it does give context on what to expect.
