Game survey for my project

SpellshaperSpellshaper Member UncommonPosts: 419
Hello guys,

I would really appreciate if you can find a few mins for my gaming survey. Its mostly about online gaming and PvP. If you also fill open questions, it will help a lot.

Here is a link:

Thank you very much

Q8 didn't really have a good option: in the game I play there isn't "matchmaking" per se; it's more just people I happen to run into and get to know over the course of playing the game.  Therefore, it is somewhat random, but it isn't matchmaking.

I went with 'friends I know already' since this seemed to best fit my experience; important to note, though, that the people I play cooperatively with in my PvP game of choice aren't people I know in real life.

Thank you for clarification and also for your time to take survey.

The question is meant to ask, if you mostly play with someone you know from the "real world", online world or dont know at all (see them first time at that game or match). That matchmaking part in that option is to better illustrate the point, but it doesnt have to be matchmaking per se.

The question about choosing between the "nice guy" who sucks vs the pro gamer arse seemed too limited and stereotypical.

Met nice guys and arses of all skill levels, so not sure how relevant the results from it will be.

+1 here. Would be interesting with Q about nice guy / bad guy, if there was a similar one about the person answering.. how woudl you consider yourself, something like a perfectionist who expects everyone the same, a laid back guy who dont care, but is good etc...

This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

This question is this extreme, because I want to know, if you are willing to sacrifice on performance or good mood. I know people are not that extreme in real life (I hope :) ).

And regarding the answering person, I think they cant do objective assessment of themselves. But I think answer itself can tell a bit about the person answering too.

I know, but some people prefer the other option and the ratio is what I want to know.

Thank you for taking the survey!

I only want ONE type of pvp game,a well balanced arena style, pro design map layout.
If this is not a game,i don't understand why we need to know about pvp  people in general?
You are asking a demographic that thinks of pvp in a gaming sense.
Poster above even answered in relation to gaming, but you said it is not a game.So it is simply a survey about pvp gaming for school ?

Odd.  Survey jumped from Q6 to Q11.

Why list all the social media sources, but only a single category for websites?  Generally, websites pull data, but the social media sources push data at me.  I'm totally averse to social media in any incarnation because of this.  And has print media (periodicals) dropped completely off information sources, or just not of interest?

For future reference, that poll is horrible for visually-challenged / impaired people.  Find better software with better contrast/color control.

Edit: My guess is this is another school project -- sociology / psychology / philosophy.

    Thank all of you guys.

to Mendel: Its because you answered, that you dont play PvP games. Thats why it skipped PvP questions. And I am only interested in online communication right now. I will also try to select better colors next time.
to BarbieBoy: np I will check that ;)

@Spellshaper; developing a poll that skips some questions is generally a bad idea.  Am I a PvP player?  No, but I have played enough to form my opinions about it.  Who knows, the ideas that might best express the purpose of the survey might just come from the person that plays least.  Skipping questions doesn't give yourself the opportunity to gauge those responses -- it's uncollected data skewing the results.  I'd consider this a badly formed survey, with a built-in bias.

I hope you get some data you can use.

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

I feel its very counterproductive to ask players, that dont like/play any PvP game about their PvP experiences. That would mean they will either fill-in nonsense or doesnt finish the survey at all.
Its not bias or badly formed survey, its just common sense.
