Lineage 1 because it was ahead of its time and still beats the majority of MMOs developed today.

Final Fantasy 14 is still my top mmo. I've played many mmos over the years and this one sticks out the most. I remember being really excited for its release. Growing up I didn't have access to a credit card and they didn't really sell game cards back then so I never got to play Final Fantasy 11 in its prime. I remember getting it for 360 but it just wasn't the same to me as players who played since launch. I'm all for grinding since my 2nd favorite mmo is Maple Story.
Final Fantasy 14 came out in 2010 and I saved up to buy a computer based on it's recommended settings. Boy were we in for a surprise when that game launched. Poorly optimized from the performance to game play. It was decent but not what we expected. They had to close the game down to rework it from the ground up. The developers dropped a meteor on the world they created so the people could rebuild it. Now I know Maple Story and World of warcraft did similar things to change unplayed areas, but this was different. They used the meteor to destroy this game or world you once knew to rebuild something new. A Realm Reborn is one of the most polished MMOs I have ever had the experience to play. The graphics are BEAUTIFUL! Everything about the game is amazing. I believe its $12 a month to play which is cheaper than the standard. You can have all the classes on one character. You can easily swap your gear with saved gear sets. This allows you to quick swap from Dps to Tank or even healer on the fly or perhaps you want to pvp. Leveling other classes even unlocks cross class skills that can be carried over to other classes. The best part is the glamor system. You can look how ever you want while keeping stats of your highest item level. If you haven't played this game than you need to. Get it on PC if not Ps4.

EQ: Because it was my first, and it was magical.

My favorite MMO was and shall forever will be SWG. No game I played had a better community or systems in place.
The community was incredible, Rebs and Imps would regularly hang out at cantinas together socializing. I do miss chatting with the ladies there while getting my buffs. Because the community was that way, rivalries meant something. Made great friends who I played many MMOs with since. Great times.
The systems in that game allowed us be whatever we wanted when we wanted. Plus the crafting was the best. Out of 4 accounts I had, 3 were crafters. I spent hours just hunting the good ore for my factories. I had set it up sing drinking songs while grinding my weaponsmith crafter.

The first installment of Guild Wars; for its' unique approach to character progression and party-wide skill class dynamics.
  • KryptyKrypty Member UncommonPosts: 454
Dark Age of Camelot for being my first real MMO, and for the RvR that few other games have ever rivaled. A close second is WoW simply due to it's standing power and the support Blizzard gives it.

UO followed closely by EQ. You never forget your first.

City of Heroes/Villains Why? Easy - they got more "right" than any MMO, from team structure, to character customization, to non-trinity gameplay, to community, to...you get the point.

Rising Force Online (RF Online) , 3 race with 1 leaders every race, and have council, election the leaders, i think the best mmo.

For 6 years i was addicted to wow, but i'm clean since 2011! :D Nowadays my favourite is Guild Wars 2. It is really casual friendly, beautiful and it has the best pvp system on the market. The action oriented no global cd gameplay is like a breeze after the old timer, stationary mmos. Thanks for the chance! The headset would be awesome.

All time probably was DAOC due to the RVR and all the classes you had.  Not sure right now still waiting for something new but probably ESO. I like the setting of it and how you can develop your classes.

It varies, as I tend to get bored :) But longest-played ones: EVE online and FFXIV
  • rbprillyrbprilly Member UncommonPosts: 5
World of Warcraft. It stays up to date and changes with the times which keeps me interested. One nice thing is the graphic engine is always updated instead of staying outdated like some mmos.

Hands down is EvE online, no other game play offers such dramatic choices, there is a storyline, but the main story in eve is what the players make, not what the devs progam

This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.
Use this code for 21days trial in eve online https://secure.eveonline.com/trial/?invc=d385aff2-794a-44a4-96f1-3967ccf6d720&action=buddy
