A healer with an adequate offense and resurrect is tops in my book. It's tough to beat Lucio and by most team compositions I've played lately, he's the go-to support character...still, I love Mercy and she gets my top vote.
I can change the entire momentum of the team with Lucio.

Lucio is better on the capture maps, Mercy is far better on more open maps and payload maps. Those clutch rezzes while pushing the payload are far better than an AoE heal.
Lucio is really cool, and can be so freaking annoying (and hilarious) if the player is good at wall riding.
Mercy is a close second though as a more traditional support, and with her upcoming buff I may play her more. Plus it's really satisfying to kill a dps as Mercy if you get cornered.
I pretty much main Zenyatta now. Yes, even after the nerf to Discord, he's a beast. Great damage if you can aim, throw-and-forget-heal-orb and the ability to make the biggest threat on the enemy team wish they weren't the biggest threat is such a fantastic combination. His ultimate pretty much nullifies a Zarya or Genji Ultimate. Just pop it and bunch up on the healer.
Yes, sombra is going to be amazing, and I can see her completely replacing Symmetra as the "off support" pick in matches after release. On Rein heavy maps, where the game can quickly become a situation of 'whose shield breaks first', she'll be invaluable.
Oracle, Lina, Lion, Omni, Zeus and others from the 120 heroes. Choosing one of 4 champs must be really difficulty, isn't it?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Almost unkillable, fast, heals, fun movement. Only downside poor damage

Personally, I prefer Mercy.
