    Those who can't create critique. They think they are all-knowing of all the working mechanics and many pieces involved in making a good game.

    Actually WoW would be a very bad example for what you are trying to say.

    It is WoW that made Warcraft universe more popular than it was, not the other way around. Before WoW yes people do play Warcraft but it is no more popular than Command and Conquer or Dune RTS.

    I think some of these people should take a class on how to maintain their computers, or how to check system reqs... >.>

    I've played it for almost five years now without issues. Across at least three different systems. Including my godawful laptop.

    There are people who just can't understand how people can enjoy something they don't.  They just don't have the mentally capacity or self control to just move on to something they enjoy.

    Most game forums are full of complainers but in swtor you have people who have stayed subbed for years now just to complain in the forums.  Very few people who actually play these games step foot into forums anymore especially swtor because it's nothing but a cesspool of paying babies.  Hey if they want to pay $15/month to be a forum troll go right ahead and thanks for financially contributing to a video game you don't enjoy.

    I played SWTOR since its release day. I was very hyped for this game. Posting on the official forums before it launched etc, etc. I was hoping for a SW experience with PvP interactions. In WoW the most fun i had was doing the open world PvP with the opposing faction while leveling up, and I quit that game after reaching max level because it's now just a game of waiting in queue for a BG or Instance while jumping around in town wasting your time.

    Well, SWTOR did exactly the same thing, but even worse. When I was leveling up to max in SWTOR, I didn't find a SINGLE PLAYER from the opposing faction. Not. A. Single. One. They made so many planets and they are completely DEAD. I even made 2 or 3 runs around ALL planets (when I came back a few month later), to find any players to do open pvp with. There was NOBODY there. All you can do in this game is wait in queue for some stupid huttball.

    What I found was a pathetically bad and disgusting, boring and uninnovative copy of WoW, without the best elements of WoW.

    Now I came to these forums to ask if anythign changed. Are all the planets still dead? Is there any open world PvP? Or is it still only this retarded huttball ?

    I saved myself time, repair cost, and frustration by becoming an elitist snob.

    When running HM FPs:

    1. I check everyone in the group for 216+ augmented gear.

    2. I check everyone in the group for the Legendary Icon next to their nametag.

    If anyone is missing any of those in the slightest, I leave the group. I rather not have my soul eaten.

    EA has NO care for a loyal fanbase. They cater to the endless stream of F2P locusts to stay afloat. Level syncing, no new Ops, no class story is a sure sign that they are not going to invest into the game.

    Imagine if they shifted resources from gimmicks into making the game great.

    Things I would like to see fixed if I were to come back:

    1. The Engine.

    2. Group Finder needs restrictions. 
    a. Gear checks for HM content.
    b. Role check. - Tired of DPS queuing as Healer (w/off-healer skills) or DPS queuing as Tank (w/off-tank skills). 
    c. When in a HM, if one player hits spacebar, then it counts for all group members, ending the cutscene.

    3. PVP Mechanics.
    a. Fix Resolve/CC Break skill cooldowns OR nerf CC/stunlocking.
    b. Nerf certain DOTs (it's stupid what you can do with a sage/sorc).
    c. Players who do not accumulate objective points, get no reward. PVPing in mid like a selfish brat should be discouraged. 

    4. GSF.
    a. Give it a purpose. I like it, but I wish there was more meaningful impacts on the ground game.

    That's just the short list for myself, White Knights have no power here.


    Why does someone have to be a legendary player?  I have 6 of the 8 classes finished.  I literally have zero interest in ever playing the smuggler.  So I probably won't ever have the status.  Sounds like the real reason you have issues finding groups is your ridiculous requirements that need to be met.  The gear requirement I get, but the trivial "legendary" status is just confounding.
    It means that person played the game enough to know what is going on. It means that they didn't buy a lvl 60 token 5 minutes ago.
     
    I don't want to or have to use my time to explain each of your skills and utility points for your class and role during a HM FP or Op. Maybe this is due to buying a lvl 60 token?

    I shouldn't have to explain to a sage what force barrier is, to put cleanse in their toolbar, and to put points into utility skills for example.

    And before you tell me that a veteran player should be teaching these noobs how to play, tell me when was the last time anyone agreed to do what you tell them to do over the internet.

    The good news is, these entitled burdens move on like locusts. The bad news is, there's a steady, endless stream of these types coming into SWTOR.

    Hey, I like the game, too. But, the players make me drop my tendies. It's just not worth it anymore.







    I would never suggest that it's your responsibility to teach random players anything.  I also get what you mean, but it's still an arbitrary achievement.  A bad player can just as easily level up each class to 50 (which is very easy if you just keep up on your gear) and still not know what force barrier does/is.  How would you judge a player in a different mmo.  Take wow for example.  Would you just use ilevel or some other trivial achievement?

    dont hate the game, 

    i personally enjoy the combat, but thats not enough to log in just for pvp

    and content wise, there is only story and pvp that i am interested in, but really feel like its not enough

    -the worlds are a bit too static,
    -no day/night cycles,
    -little npc movement,
    -no npc politics as in certain events or system (system implies more consistent rather than once a year) of -----how certain npcs interact with other npcs and how their alliances or wars shift the landscape and even their location , which would mean that even questing for certain npcs would be in different areas making questing a bit more dynamic (something they could have added but would be ground breaking for an mmo  to be 'dynamic')
    -not enough mini games - card games, swoop racing
    -no actual bounty hunting
    - expansion size is too small for a game that started with a budget of 150 million - should have more core systems in place
    - combat in pve - too simple
    -quests too linear but have chat dialogue (class quests and world quests are fine but could have more 'choice')
    -quest rewards dont feel as epic as they should
    -long grind for end game - they seem to adressing that, but whats the point if all they are working is mostly the journey and there is no open world pvp, limited other activities such as raids, mini games etc
    - no open world pvp - never expect this in swtor
    - limited races in a SW game
    -no future in classes - which is somewhat fine since its really can be seen as 16 classes which is a nice amount but still when other aspects of the game are missing, why play something that has been done 5 years ago?
    -no player made content

    Now this game has been around for 5 years, I have been there from the start and will say that for a new comer its a good game, but for someone 5 years later it might lose some appeal.

    what would get my interest and would be realistic to see in swtor as in its technically possible

    -gambling for in game credits
    -card games
    -swoop racing
    - bounty hunting
    -player made content - arenas, housing with traps or mazes, create their own raids etc (could be like a mini game of tower defense and the server recognizes the house with the best surival of waves/time) - or house building can be seen as empire building as well - getting resources from attacking other houses - may be use a different currency as well.
    -large bg's with lots of npcs - raid but pvp

    less likely

    - lots of races for character creation
    or may be a short cut could be costumes of other races - not as personal but at least would allow for the look as long as their height is not an issue.

    SWTOR was a fairly decent theme park, but it was just that, a theme park. Voice acting, flashpoints, companions and a better system for PvP arenas were the chief differences.

    Where it really had the opportunity to set itself apart was when WoW abolished skill trees. At that point they could have said "We realize WoW is moving to seize the market of people with no sense of independence that can't make their own decisions, but we are setting ourselves apart as the largest and strongest title for people who still believe in character customization. SWTOR is the place to go if you love themeparks but have an IQ higher than a turnip."

    Their failure to do so is the reason I hate them, and the primary reason I haven't even taken the time to play through these new expansions that admittedly look like they have a great story. But I don't want to play through those expansions on a character the game built for me.

    Also SWTOR was a huge disappointment for people who were a fan of KOTOR which had so, so, so much more flavor and personality than just another tank and spank themepark. Where's the Pazaak? Swoopbikes? Skill based characters with skills like hacking, repairing, and demolition? Nahhhh. Let's just be WoW with lightsabers.

    Hey, I love skill trees. It's one feature I wish they hadn't gotten rid of. However, let's be honest, there were/are services which essentially boiled down your build into one of, say, 3 "acceptable" builds. This was NOT exclusive to WoW circa 2013 or 2014, though, this was since WoW started. Also, before there were services, there was Excel and stat nerds like me spending 20 hours a week tweaking builds for your guild. Furthermore, players propagated these changes. How? Well, if you failed to conform to a standard list of a couple "acceptable" builds, then you were quickly booted from any pick-up group.

    It's an unfortunate reality which most people don't seem to want to address, but would you rather have your development team creating new features like housing? Pazaak? Swoopbikes? Or would you rather the develop spend hundreds or thousands of hours attempting to balance builds for PvP? Only to have said builds re-vamped once you think you've balanced them? Sucks, but it's a reality in gaming.

Most of them are saying they are going to Final Fantasy XIV or ESO...I think some people should do some reading before moving to new games if they hate RNG and grinding that much.

    SWTOR is one of the games I replay parts of once or twice a year because I miss some of the story-line, or when they have something new that looks like it would be good to play.  Those original class stories were the best for the most part.  They really should consider adding new classes from time to time.  It's about the only reason I'd come back to the game on a regular basis.

    i tryed to like tor but it just sucks ass i am a swg vet and to go from open world galaxies to this poorly done wow ripoff clone i just couldnt.

    swg had it all tor is a step backwards its so instanced the space is just god aweful swgs jump to lightspeed was so good you could buy ships fly them freely around no queing just go to the spaceport and off you go swg space was the bomb then the open world pvp tor blew it with this thier paper engine couldnt handle ilum at launch not swg though i just go to restuss and fight away 

    playable wookies rodians in swg in tor your stuck with the same human just colored differently 

    housing tors housing is shit wheree the nieghborhood? wheres my nieghbors? in swg i could just buy a house and plop it wherever i pleased no "exhaustion zone" garbage

    i know tor isnt swg and it was never meant to be but in comparison it just destroys tor hands down.

    the removal of f2p passes is going to shrink the already small playerbase not force subs which is what thier trying to do.

    lastly i thought sony was bad but EA the company who was voted worst company in a row 2 times has really shit on tor pretty much abandoned it all thier focus is on cartel market items no new raids just rehashed content over and over

    tor is just a very sad game it could have been something but instead its just a gambling addicts paradise and not much else

    Actually you are both right and you are both talking about two different things.  Szkieletor is talking about open world PVP which all of us that have played the game knows that open world PVP is pretty much dead and that the  the preferred method to engage in PVP is to queue up for it.  And since level sync was introduced you pretty much only have to do class stories and run heroics without having to do the fetch quest or planetary quests  to level up. So your time on the planet is pretty short and your chance of coming across other players is very low.

    As to the profitability of the game I can on say that in my experience was that SWTOR didn't really care about how many subs it had as long as the Cartel Market was profitable.  I felt that they cared more for the person whom frequently  purchased  items from  the Cartel Market  than someone like myself that never purchased cartel packs and only used my monthly cm rewards to purchase in game unlocks when I did subscribe to the game.

    I loved the story.  I even liked the story when they only had emp and rebel story lines.  I had about 8 characters at 60.  When they changed the companions to all be the same and all we got was a generic story is when I lost interest.

    People keep saying that but I have never once copied anyone else's build skill for skill and I have never once been refused into a group because of my build.

    Maybe it's because I'm smart enough to build a good build on my own, maybe it's because I do more PvP than raiding, or maybe it's just because I run in more casual circles, and maybe it's because I generally play healers, but I have to feel that if it was the problem It's being cracked up to be I would have experienced it at least once. 

    Like I said though, never once have I been turned down because of my build. The only time I've ever been turned down from PUGs was because my gearscore was too low.

    you was a healer, people are more willing to let go really needed classes to play as long they main one is done, I did several runs with lame healers, but even a lame healer is better then without one, the same way when I played DPS in some games in pugs guildless they invited me on spot because I was making his guild group kill a lot faster, same when I tank, but for some more power oriented group i'm not good enough, since i'm not willing to spend 10 hours a day grinding for gear. but when you play others classes with anyone can fill in you are more disposable, a tank and a healer hardly can complain about lack of groups, because most will be waiting for a tank or healers to start a group


    FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.

    It's basically a single player game with other people running around. I enjoy the classes, and the races. The story is ok, and I don't mind the combat, although there's nothing new there. I would like it a lot more if it were group-centric.

    I resubbed back in Jan 2016, and I'm still playing. I haven't played a single MMO this long in forever (I think SWG was the last one I did) most MMO's you play for a few months and quit, but I really like this game. I have 18 characters, I play all the classes, I pvp non-stop on different classes and raid with different classes - I dunno what it is, but the game just clicks for me. I love the art style, and I like running the group content (Hardmode flashpoints, end game raids)

    4.0 fixed a lot of the crap I hated about this game at launch - they really really stream lined leveling and being able to play alts. I'm looking forward to 5.0.

    I enjoy undercutting people in the market place - it's the only PvP a crafter gets.

    Because on these forums it was labelled as a total failure, will close...yada yada yada.

    And it still here along with WoW and the naysayers are still butthurt.

    haha i just tried to install and it just hangs there , and ive no prob with 10 other mmos

    seems the one guy above had it right , this client has some serious issues.....

    WONT be played here im not gonna bother .....if it wont get past this stage it can't be that great a game.

    Honestly, through Shadow of Revan it's pretty good.  The best part is the class stories through Corellia.  For the original class stories you can play for free, so it's worth the play through.  The last two "expansions" are single player RPG for the most part and the last one included a disaster of a gearing system they thought would keep people grinding for a year.  That seems to be failing miserably and many, like myself, have canceled subs.  If they fix it I might go back, depending on how long it takes and how invested I get in ESO.

    Probably for the launch.

    Same w/ Wildstar & ESO.

    The saying "First impressions last a lifetime" is totally true.

    Though ESO has managed to do well despite that.
    When all is said and done, more is always said than done.
