Group PvE / Dungeon Focus

I love the holy trinity as I love to tank and heal, while staying away from raw, boring DPS.

Therefore I am looking for a largely populated MMORPG focused on dungeons and group content during levelling (not just endgame).

No PvP-focused games or sandbox experiences.

Lately I've played:

- WoW: everyone is too busy about stats, no one seems to have fun
- TSW: boring classes, cookie-cutter dungeons
- FFXIV: excellent example of what I'm looking for. Played too much of it, need something new
- RIFT: tried many times to get into it, can't put my finger on what doesn't work for me. Feels bland
- ESO: non-endgame dungeons feel like an afterthought
- SWTOR: really want to get back to it, but there is something that keeps me away. Also, absurd amount of skills in 4 hotbars, sigh
- GW2: no trinity system
- BDO: too action based, cash shop
- WildStar: Too much focus on spamming skills and placement

Missed any? Think I should revisit any for any reason?

Thanks!

Oh and please, no asian games (AION, TERA, ArcheAge, etc). Dislike their grind necessity and/or their P2W methodologies. Thanks again

If you can't find what you want in those games, you may have to make your own. Those are the most populated games that have what you are asking for. Or you may have to make a time machine to take you back to whenever was your golden age.

If/when some of the "old school" KS titles launch you may get your wish, but for now you are pretty much out of luck finding anything along these lines you haven't already considered.

So I guess you "won"  theme park MMORPGs? ;)

I think your perception of WoW is just plain wrong. I've done a ton of heroics/mythics and PUG'd raids, and nobody was stat or loot obsessed and generally pretty pleasant. Maybe you should try joining a guild?

there isn't any others that fit your criteria that you haven't already played. IMO you should go back to wow and just find an active PVE guild that shares your vision.

plenty of guilds out there that focus on just having fun and doing stuff together.

Try the progression servers in Everquest, especially Phinigel.  Certainly populated enough to find groups and raiding guilds, dungeons galore, and you can't accomplish shit without a group, even while leveling.  Plus, the game is slow enough where people actually socialize while grouped.  You might make a few, good friends!

I'll take on EQ's suggestion. Wish me luck!
