Which Digimon game had the best gameplay?

Just a question for anyone who has played at least 2 Digimon games - which one was your favorite?  Which one ad the best gameplay, the best story?  Which one would you replay if you had to replay one?
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

i've only played Digimon story cyber sleuth on ps4 and i really like it. Can't really talk about the older games. It has simple pokemon-like gameplay but with more features. Also pokemon seems targeted to younger folks than digimon(at least cyber sleuth), thats what i feel anyway.

Looking forward to the new one coming out soon, but i gotta beat cyber sleuth first.

EDIT: i know you asked for people who played at least 2 games, just sharing my experience.

They both seem targeted at a really young audience to me.  I'd prefer a pet monster game aimed at a teen/adult audience, but such a thing probably wouldn't be commercially successful, unless maybe it substituted shipgirls or monstergirls for pet monsters.  But then it wouldn't be my cup of tea.  That's my least favorite thing about the Disgaea series - theoretically you can make pet monsters and fight with a team of them, but there are distinct disadvantages to doing so.  And there are other good tactical games which I just can't get into because you have to use humanoid characters instead of monsters.

Either way, nice to hear your impression even if you've only played the one game.

For some reason I really like Digimon World 2. Might just be nostalgia.
The dungeon crawling gameplay is fun and the randomized maps are a good feature.

Digimon World just didn't do it for me and the third one felt clunky so I never got too far into it.
