Chronicles of Elyria - Can You Dig It? - MMORPG.com
This week Tim Eisen digs deep to solve problems with the implementation of tunneling. Did he brace his arguments or is his thought tunnel about to collapse?
Another overly ambitions and under funded mechanic! Just what this title was missing!
So I guess we can toss this on top of the Elyria Mudd, the Prelude game, The Kingdoms of Elyria game, and the boardgame. All designed, implemented and rolled out by the time Early Enrollment (no wipe 3 month head start) launches around Oct next year. (Or have they finally admitted that their promised timeline in the Kickstarter was utterly unachieveable)?

It's not just over ambitious at this point it's straight up idiotic.

Hey don't be so misleading... there is no boardgame!
No in all seriousness, I want to play this game, I really do. I just do not expect to do so in any of those forms, yet alone see a release title, in the next year.

With all the crazy stuff they over promise you are going to pick one word to call "so misleading"?
OK.. I stand corrected. They didn't use the word boardgame. They used the phrase "paper prototype" game that the developer would build "in his own time".
So my updated statement is:

Forum won't let me edit.. so I'd like to add this for @VictoriaRachel:
Is it disingenuous for the developers to have more STRETCH goals when even you admit they have no realistic way of delivering what they have currently promised and sold in the time it was promised?

Sorry @slapshot1188 I thought I came across as suitably sarcastic, but apparently my humour did not translate! I was attempting to make a funny.
The paper prototype was an idea the developer had and not something they really intend to do, more a thought experiment. Which I have to say meant the update where they spoke about it was one of the most confusing and irrelevant update from a developer ever.
There is an awful lot they plan to do here and not a lot of time to do it in if they are ever going to get to the targets they said they would. I think it would be foolish to ever expect those dates to be meet. As I said I do not expect to see even the first of these various releases next year, however, I never have and never would. So do I think it is disengenious to have stretch goals? Personally, no. Do I think putting that they were aiming for a Dec 2017 launch date was disengenious? Personally, yes. However, saying that I do not see anything else coming out before 2018/19 that captures my imagination and interested in the same way so I will be sat around waiting the extra time.

But doesn't that call into question the whole viability of the project? If they said they need millions more funding just to get to full launch, and now this target full launch date is not what they thought/sold but rather another year or two further... doesn't that mean they need millions on top of the millions they do not already have? Seems to me that they should be focused on delivering what they already sold to people rather than selling new stuff that makes that delivery even less likely.

I'm pretty sure she knows the promises aren't realistic so she was joking about it.
