At first blush, the job listings on the Blizzard site for both a Lead Software Engineer and a Lead Tools Engineer on a "robust first-person engine" might seem to indicate that the Overwatch team is expanding. However, the next piece of the advertisements say "for an unannounced project". The ads further seek applicants with the expertise to take the engine across multiple platforms and with "previous experience working on first-person or other action-oriented" games.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. They have their RTS, MOBA, Arena FPS, ARPG, CCG, and MMORPG. Survival games have been 'all the rage' for a while now and I wouldn't be surprised to see them want in on that market as well.
The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!
It's almost certainly a survival game...
In the style of Space Hulk: Deathwing

Now lets flashback all the way to the beginning:
Warcraft 1 - Brave new world of RTS, story and lore wise not so much (was originally designed as a Fantasy Warhammer game)
Warcraft 2 - Same RTS bigger Story, really made it there own at this point
Diablo 1 - Brave new world of ARPG, story not so much made it passable to enjoy the mechanics of the game.
StarCraft - Back to RTS with minor feature updates, with heavy emphasis on the Story and Lore (but really just a Warhammer 40K Clone
Diablo 2 - Refinements to the ARPG features, and heavy lore they finished the back story and made the world Alive
Warcraft 3 - More Story, but mostly it was the new engine that was on display for this iteration (as it was the same to be used in the next game)
World of Warcraft - this is the pinnacle of all the other releases on the tech side of things, and the most robust adaptation of story
StarCraft 2 - More story, minor updates to the RTS formula, Major test to the release model and with releasing 33.33% of the game with each iteration.
HearthStone - Old IP, and new genre. No real story needed for this type really.
Heroes of the Storm - Combination of all IP's with no story, start of a new Engine.
OverWatch - New IP Limited story to just to make it passable, New Engine and Tech in different ways.
* I didn't add all the expansions or any of the one-off irrelevant games.
They have a formula the Wow made them deviate from it a bit but seems like they are getting back to it.
With that the obvious path if they are working on the World of game it should be Diablo at this point as for the next steps in the story as they just opened the story up to bring back all the spooky baddies and lives into the cycle. StarCraft 3 they can work a bit on the more open ended storylines a bit more (and might have been there didn't finish Void yet) to flow into a MMO. Finally an Overwatch Project that will allow them to adapt and further the stories and lore so that they are able to branch it out into different avenues of game types.
Hope anyone actually reads this...
TL:DR
This is my observations and opinions on what the next few year look like at Blizzard. If you didn't read it you didn't miss much.
I ve read a few articles saying this is most likely it. I hope it is too, OW is such a great game, but co op is another aspect that would make it even better. The Halloween event was probably a small test to see it s possible popularity.
