Final Fantasy doesn't mean turned based only.
    It did untill last year.
How about Final Fantasy Crisis Core (PSP), Final Fantasy Dirge of Cerberus (Playstation 2), Final Fantasy 12 (Playstation 2) and Dissidia Final Fantasy (Great PSP game btw) ?

You are listing some of the lesser known titles.  FF12 wasn't action based either.  With the ability to pause it was more turned based then anything.   Now we are looking at Lightning Returns which is action based combat and idk about this new one.  FF13-2  which just made everything overly confusing.  So comparing those spinoffs to the main titles isn't even considerable.  We have 15 turn based titles.  2  online titles.  2 action titles.  So yea Final Fantasy is known for its turned based strategy combat mode.
Final Fantasy is evolving, action combat like kingdom hearts fits the game pretty well in my opinion.

While true they where spin offs they where separate games that portrayed more lore on a particular character. I still count them since I enjoyed them. Vincent being my absolute favourite character in the series so far.

Final fantasy 12 could be played as an actiony game by changing the settings. I don't know if you know the origin of that combat system, it's from a game from the first playstation era.

The game is vagrant story which is another gem that got left behind sadly.

Noone says that and of the ff13,series is their favorite Final Fantasy game.  They are appealing to a very small portion of players at this point.  When I was young everyone played Final Fantasy.  Now its hard to find anyone who plays the newer ones.  If it wasn't for ff14 the series would be in much trouble.  FF13-2 and lightning returns are the lowest selling final fantasy games ever made.

Im over 8 hours into the game so far, and still in chapter 3. I am loving every minute of this game.

With that said, after watching Kingsglaive, i really hate some of the story writer's dumb decisions (in the movie). Crowe Altius could have been a powerful supporting character for Noctis and his friends within the game. I lost complete interest after watching that certain part of the movie. Lets hope the game has better character development all the way to the end. So far its fine.

    loved final fantasy 3-4-5-6-7 ( 8 a litle ) 9-10

they lost me at 11, they did not get me back at 12 and 13 either...

14 was online i did play a bit and it was okay

15 that clear now im not their target

the main cast caracters look almost like female, they are not manly, they act like pop group for teen, with a story kinda boring... and the open world that i dislike...

    not for me !! pass

Really? I love these over the top hyperbole statements. If you played any of the ffs as claimed in your post You would know most of the main characters in ff game are anime pretty boys with fashion that comes right from j-pop.

Thats absolute bullshit, if you knew anything about FF you wouldnt write that. The pop- influence started in ff8 and dragged to ff10 (ff9 nope), ff12,ff13,ff14,ff15. It was the same director that ruined all ff trough the years. All good old ff devs are long gone. Latest good ff, was ff9.

Is the combat like Lightning Returns?   I hated that because they tried to mix action combat in the middle of it.  I mean why even call it final fantasy if they are going to make it an action game?  I was able to fully enjoy 13 but 13-2 was too open world and I didn't feel like walking around talking to everyone to find the story cutscenes.
I really enjoyed the turn based combat in earlier titles, but the actiony combat in FF15 is pretty well done. I played the demo for 13 and hated the combat so didn't buy it, but this one feels satisfying, especially fighting the bigger enemies.

It also has a "wait" mode which is kind of like pausing in say Dragon's Age or similar, so you can stop check out enemy weaknesses, choose targets, give commands, etc.

In terms of the "walking around to find cutsceens", so far its pretty much on the rails. There is a main quest line in red that contains the story and then the world is scattered with mmo-like side quests (some like the chocobo quest are really good/important). Talking of chocobos, they are incredible in this game.

I didn't find the game all that good and sort of regret spending $80 on it.

The sidequests are awful. Some of the worst I have seen besides the hunting ones. You basically pick up a fetch quest. Then you have to watch yourself drive 3-6 minutes to a spot. Pick up an item and return to person the who gave you quest.

The driving is terrible. It's on rails. On top of that you have to constantly fill up your tank. The car must get 0.5 MPG.

The food/camp system is a pain in the ass, along with the night/day cycle. You have time to do one or two quests then you have to head back to camp because the sun is setting.

    Definitely overhyped and overrated imo.

Is there an option to use Japanese voice overs?

Yeah there is, a lot of people complain about English voice and even dot off some point for their reviews but for me japanese is a 10/10. Each voice fits perfectly to its character like most anime. I think the anime have the same Japanese voice actors. I may be wrong though.

Not really.  The closest thing to twitch skill affecting anything in Final Fantasy XII was making sure you weren't in the damaging AoE of an attack spell that targetted a party member (if the AoE spell targetted you, however, there was no way to dodge it and the resulting AoE would always be centered on you once casted)

Even trying to maintain distance as a ranged character vs a monster specifically targetting you more often than not made no difference unless there were weird broken-AI pathing issues involved.
