I enjoyed Gwent (inside the Witcher 3) more than HS. HS and all other card games play very similarly to each other but Gwent is so different it felt like something really new. I lost every match but still liked it quite a bit. Not sure if the standalone is already out.
EDIT: HS felt like it followed the same recipe Blizz adds to all their games where you are only good with a the cookie cutter build that is trending on with any particular update. Gwent felt more strategic (yet simple) and less "follow the pro's guide to success"
I think Hearthstone is a classic. Sure, it's an RNG shit-fest, but it's also really polished. I just got a new phone and man it is really cool to play a game when you're out waiting for something.
I wouldn't mind a more strategic virtual card game, but if I'm looking for strategy, I just play chess. I think it's ok that Hearthstone is basically "just for fun".
