Well, if anyone thought Dark and Light was coming to Steam Early Access this year still... we have some bad news. The Steam Page is officially up, and it's been delayed into early 2017. Read on for more.

    Wait...

    Is that a unicorn? In one of the 'look at our games' pics? Uh oh. Now we'll be expecting unicorns from day 1, and if that ends up being true, how on unicorn earth are they going to add new amazing things from there?

    Only so many things are better than a unicorn, and they all involve a unicorn. Rainbow shooting out of a unicorn's butt, rainbow shooting out of a unicorn's butt while it flies, rainbow shooting out of a unicorn's butt while it flies and then also shoots out of it's unicorn horn.

    SMH, nowhere to go from here but down.


    I didn't realize it looks that clean, sure hope it moves well. If it is both, I *might* try it. Maybe. Probably not, but, you never know.

    ok...maybe not. I can already envision this game to be a good bet for people to hold off picking up until it is 80% off during the 2017 Steam Summer Sale.

    Probably a good strategy to wait for the Steam Sales in this case, lol

    It's a wonderful time to be a gamer, all the released games are F2P these days !

    Except that everyone pays to get the Early Access version anyways, because nobody has the patience to wait 3 years for the devs to change the status to "released" so you can play for free... :D

    Given the recent history of the development, I'd imagine "Early 2017" actually means "somewhere in the first 12 months"...

This causes the gaming public to create their own wild expectations and build hype without the developer ever having to risk legal repercussions or community backlash by falsely advertising the game.

    Normally, this type of advertising would likely be ineffective, but the IP in question makes it wildly effective. The name of Dark and Light is widely reviled. A rebirth of this infamous name under a completely different engine and studio was all but guaranteed to generate discussion.

    And oh, has it ever generated discussion.  One look at these forums and the sheer amount of talk about this otherwise vanilla survival title demonstrates that there may be something to my theory here.

    This new website is a joke. There are way to few infos to hook anyone to buy the game. If they would be proud with their product, one should think they would flood us with informations. But they don't. Currently I can't believe the second start might be one bit better than the first.

    To that, I have to ask you this: what games developer thinks of themselves as bad? 
    Yes... and also, mainstream people, mainstream gamers, are not well informed. So "It's Snail games" won't mean the same thing as someone who plays a lot.

    Check Ubisoft and EA's sells  numbers and see how much casuals don't care for information about the companies involved. 
    I'll agree with the both of you that the typical consumer in general doesn't care enough to reach or even care enough to stop buying even when there's a flood of information pointing at a negative product and/or company. For example, a few stores are having class action law suits filed right now against them for posting false sales, such as Sears and JCPenny. But people continue to shop at said stores. A fool as his money as they say.

    I hope it turns out to be a great game as I like it on paper. It's a unique product so it has that going for it at a time when the same models are done over and over.
