Not officially part of Origin's "On the House" program, Mass Effect 2 is currently free through EA's gaming platform for the time being. BioWare's Twitter indicated that it is going to be giving away five days worth of free games, beginning, it seems, with what many see as the finest of the original Mass Effect trilogy of games.

I own this but this year EA have grown to be one of my favourite publishers. People hate on them but I have seen a lot of very pro consumer moves from EA recently. Giving free games is great.

I have EA access on my xbox and it's really good value for £19.99 a year, I even got it for £17.

One thing which would be amazing if EA access and Origin Access are the same subscription so if you have one, you get access to both, which makes a lot of sense considering that the games in the vault are pretty much the same and the price tag is the same. As it is, I play all EA games on my xbox as I can't justify stacking a second sub for essentially the same games but on PC.

It's possible it's already "off sale" and is US only. Since they're giving away a week's worth of games, maybe it was a "flash sale"?

I'll see what I can track down!

Neither The Netherlands, so I guess all of Europe still gotta pay for it (is there anyone who doesn't own this game already..?)

I don't own it and I live in the US, doesn't say free on the site or origin client for me.

It says starting tomorrow. The tweet is from yesterday at 11 am. My guess is they put it up and people were gettting it early so they pulled it to be put back at the appropriate time.

Dungeon Keeper is "on the house" since early October. Mass Effect 2 doesn't show up free for me, either (Europe).

I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high
And then I'll rise with the tide with a lust for life, I'll
Amass an army, and we'll harness a horde
And then we'll limp across the land until we stand at the shore

This is like the Ubi 30 from Ubisoft. I have had so many issues with EA, EA pc titles, and Origins. I'm not even going to bother.

Speaking of Ubi, they did a similar booboo with most of the free games by announcing them free a day or two before they were actually free, so I wouldn't be too shocked if it was a similar situation here. Both Launcher and website show the game as $20 still in the US.

Logged into my Origin account. It said Nox was free. When I clicked on the link it said Dungeon Keeper was free. So I got that. I already have Nox in a box anyway.

4:30pm CST on 21st and still not available, Dungeon Keeper is still the free game

Mass Effect 2 is no longer "free" it was a couple of days ago ( when I got it) but the next day it was done. I think they are going to offer more free games soon.

Let's party like it is 1863!
