First, I am loving the game, this is not a troll or attack thread.
Now, what I mean by the title is this:
With the ability to trade anything in the game seemingly not there, any reason to try and be an armor crafter to help out my very small guild halted by being forced to only sell my armor in the marketplace with no ability to help my guildmates, or maybe be the designated horse rancher for my small group dashed by the lack of ability to tame and bread horses for my friends. Is there any way to play this game with a small close knit group of friends?
The only way to get a horse to a friend is to sell it over the marketplace at a price picked by the marketplace eliminating the ability for me to use my time invested breeding horse to aid a new friend. Another friend is running a ship yard for our small guild but none of us can contribute to it by using our resources to help the process along.
Now, I realize I am looking at all of this from a predefined perspective, tainted if you will, by the history of games played before. With that said, I am certainly willing to learn a new way of thinking/playing, I just cant figure out how I am suppose to play WITH my friends instead of only playing at the same time as them.
Any pointers or advise, especially if I am wrong about something or am missing something, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

It does curtail what you can do for people. However, there are many things one can do such as grouping for areas for xp, grouping for boss scrolls, pvp of course, and the guild missions where you can group to get a variety of tasks done that help your guild and also help you.
Can you be the designated blacksmith for your guild? Sadly no. Can you be the guy who makes me my fishing boat so I don't have to? SADLY NO!
Hate making a boat.

It's the part of it I hate, in fact even farming and trying to group up with people can get you PvP Killed by evil elitists xD
I think your perspective is definitely skewed. Remember this is not your typical mmorpg anyways. 1 you don't get xp from quests, 2 knowledge is king, 3 the housing system is actually very useful for buffs and the bank investment system, and 4 it is a game that eats up a lot of time if you intend to do both the professions and pvp, I spend half my time feeding my workers and making god damn beer. But again see right there it's choice, and they made a game design choice probably for good reason, since we can't help in terms of resource hoarding to trade with each other directly. But what does that matter? Honestly the game is trying to get you to be independent where you need to be and team play where it's important. I see nothing wrong with the choice, but some may think it's horrible but it works out just fine, if we were able to trade money, items etc, then the market values would be obsolete and whacked up in terms of value. I my self don't enjoy the ability not to trade either but it doesn't matter the game decided and now it's up to me to somehow find a way to make it fun to play with my friends and help them out in other ways. Like leveling up, gear grinding, boss hunts, world boss hunts, etc. Tons of ways to enjoy each other's company and benefit from each other as well, Fishing together, run trade wagons and the list goes on.

I think it helps. How you look at something matters. I think people won't find the game anti-social yet you will.

This game has so many things to do that would be even better with that type of co-opping. BDO is just missing the mark on things like that imo.
But over all, it has been a surprisingly enjoyable experience so far.

Things like...
. Furniture in house that breaks constantly needing to be replaced (Boring.)
. Moving house deletes your paid house wallpapers and such...
. Limited Pearl Shop Inventory 192 Items Max what if a user wants to buy more and cant.
. Scrolls saving up 5 that expire and running them with groups (Gets boring) Repeat the same damn thing every single week try doing this for 3 years straight.
. Crafting System needs to be changed a bit so that its easier to craft items such as being able to place items in personal house and just craft there (Didn't get too much into this.)
Over-All I like the graphics quality, but the game is in need of some serious game changes, Arche Age IMO was more fun when it came to farming, and crafting easy to setup a house and go craft BDO was a bit more meh...
As for Gold Sellers (WHO CARES) Let gold sellers sell gold I don't care personally as long as they are not botting, or not in game spamming I don't care what users do outside of the game, obviously the company needs to ban bots and spammers when caught but if gold changes hands after Just Leave it be, let players trade in a free market who cares.
As for anyone recommending Arche Age, I say stay away from the game and let it die, Trion / XL ruined the game in many ways you can go search my other posts related to it, but in General the game isn't what it was when it first came out, I had Several Accounts and lots of Real Money / Cash Shop items spent to be able to tell you this.
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
If you want a more social game as much as I hate to say it "Final Fantasy XIV" or "Skyforge" both require grouping, both easy to get into. considering everything I have played to this day flat out just can't keep me playing.
On the other hand, none of it is instanced, so you will be constantly running into other people, even if more than half of them are afk fishing or afk leveling strength/their horses.
There are group guild quests (grind a shitload of mobs together) or siege pvp, which is in fact very fun, but none of it comes close to rewarding you as just grinding mobs. This is the opposite of most MMOs that encourage you to group for the most challenging/rewarding content.
