imageAion 2? Speculation Rises Over Nexon's 'Project A2' - Aion - MMORPG.com

Aion News - Flying in the face of the typical developer code name for games in development such as Project M or Project X, Nexon is working on a title called Project A2 that is significantly along in its development. According to Korean site The Fact (via 2P.com), this seems to be a reference to Aion 2 since the code name has both a letter and a number attached to it.

    If they did an action combat version I would give this some serious consideration. I played Aion the first two years it was out and loved it. If they got it right, I'd definitely check out Aion 2. Please let this be true!

    If A2 is subscription based and not free to play than yes I will play it loved Aion until it went free to play

    Yup!

    If this is a Nexon project, then there is no Aion 2. Nexon is gone from NcSoft share's ..

    I am all for a sequel to Aion because I really enjoyed my time with it.

    This time make it open world .

    The Korean source says it's PC and it's not the only new PC MMO they have coming out, so it's actually quite believable. I don't think Aion would work on mobile.

    I used to enjoy Aion until it went f2p and turned into a bot-fest.  And honestly, the end-game needed some serious work, considering it is still based entirely on RNG enchanting.

    If they make a sequel, I'd like to see one with a truly open world, and either eliminate the silly wings entirely or let players fly at will.  Also, please bring back the sub model.  F2P gets you 12-year-olds and tire-kickers.

    oh god no please no action combat i hate that for mmo's and I think it kills healing for a game. if this actually happens i will be all over it though if they do it right! i loved Aion up till F2P as well. So here's to a P2P done right!

    Didn't NCSoft confirm they were working on an Aion 2 years ago? Was supposed to be developed on Unreal engine 4 and rumored to be "action" mmo about 4 years ago. I'm having deja vu.

    Found something about a mobile game called Aion Legends that came out last year, so definitely not.

    But I did find this which is clearly also coming with A2.

    Also found this which indicates it may have been in development since 2011, but I'm not sure I believe that. With how Korean game development goes, they'd be in testing by now if that were true.

    Aion had some of the best questing I ever played. If it wasn't for the small-inventory-space-management-mini-game I would probably still play it. Lets see what they do with this one.

    Yes it is Aion 2.

    That is also the reason Aion 1 got removed from Steam.

    Aion was fantastic at the start. I believe it had huge issues with itemization as the game progressed. Not to mention how they effectively ruined Rifting. If it plays like Aion 1.0, I'd be all in. I really enjoyed Aion.

    are you sure? I mean, do you have actual knowledge of this? Because if Aion was removed from Steam it could be for other reasons.

    Additionally, Aion still makes money for NC Soft (quite a bit) so it makes no sense to remove an avenue for players to find the game for an "Aion 2" that might be a long way until completion".

    Will flight matter? Is the question. If flight is not a shitty timed thing, they maintain a targeted combat system and put a lot more focus on PvE, then I'm interested.

    Enjoyed Aion for the first 6 months or so when it came out... but the mid to late game itemisation was terrible (i.e. forget skill, gear = I win.)

    I'm not sure I would play Aion 2 (assuming that is what they are making), as FFXIV is already doing a great job in the PvE department, and if they made it more PvP focused I wouldn't really be interested... well, unless they've gone full on RvRvR with a dynamic world and (much) more balanced itemisation, then, maybe. Edit: oh and P2P.

    Do I recal correctly, that Aion was one of those games that was spoiled by having no keyboard-controlled movement?
    I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

    hope A2 have PVE servers, tired of RvR imbalances .....if they implement RvRvR that could work , but Faction vs Faction doesnt work

    From what I remember it controlled just like most western third person MMOs, i.e. WASD, right click mouse look and numbered hotkeys. There may have been a click-to-move option in there as well though...

    If they don't put Game Guard in the game, make it action based combat then maybe it will be worth playing... Oh and keep the Cash shop reasonable (Make it optional Subscription) With unlimited character remodeling no plastic surgery tickets or I won't play it.
