Well i did read the article because Rob is usually pretty sound on gaming>business, this time i am not so sure but it's ok,i can understand 2 of the choices.
However one line that stands out "ALL 3 are gorgeous..ahem,really?Zelda looks like a Zelda game, like cartoon heroes only without the HQ cartoon graphics that top end businesses produce.
I don't really have a problem with coverage as long as it is LEGIT and not some rub n tug for money.
However one does have to look at the site;s name,Craig obviously picked it for a reason. So the change has merely been for financial reasons since the site was obviously aimed at mmorpg's.So there lies a small problem, one who is invested for financial reasons and not for the games,is going to produce shotty work, not always but often.
It would be like getting me to write for ARPG's,i hate them, horribly cheap genre,it just wouldn't work.1 because i hate them lol and 2 because i can't lower myself to hype up products i don't believe in just because my boss wants me to.
On a side note,if we are promoting ANY game,i woudl argue FFXI remake will be better than all 3 of those put together but of course ruined by Nexon's cash shop...sigh,nothing to look forward to ,just Blizzard selling us more lame TCG cards.
Oh well no biggie,ho hum games to me but at least i have my grilled cheese and fries to fall back on ...mmm yummy.
I genuinely like the artistic direction they took. Nintendo can't do photorealism. The fallback is to go with a great style. I think they picked a good style. To each their own.
While I generally don't mind games with a cartoony art direction either (really liked Wind Waker and Skyward Sword for example), Breath of the Wild just looks... wrong. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I think it's the combination of cartoon art, realistic lighting, and what appears to be a very short detail draw distance (i.e. most things, and the ground specifically, more than a few meters away looks very flat texture wise), which makes the world look rather bland.
The gameplay may still hold up (though I have my doubts depending on how empty the world is, and how much cooking you have to do), but the world, IMO, is just not immersive, and for an open world game, or even a traditional Zelda game, that is a big problem.

I can't confirm it but I've heard that Monolith is helping to work on this title. They did a really nice job creating world for the Xenoblade Chronicles series so that gives me confidence that this Hyrule will be dense and full of interesting things to do. It's still just speculation though. I could be wrong!
"Drew looks like your normal teenager with the the exception of a draconic looking arm covered in scales that blends into his chest. Drew also has a symbiotic relationship with Thuban where if one of them dies so will the other."
So they're targeting a teen audience and using the premise of Dragonheart?
If you're an old school fantasy reader then the premise would be Anne McCaffrey's Pern and their Dragon Riders, only no dragon scale arms, just the symbiotic tele-empathic relationship.
Actually I do remember those books. Did they really have a symbiotic relationship where, if one died, the other died as well?
Whoa! It's been a while!
The dragons would kill themselves by going "in between" if their rider died. Most riders would either kill themselves in grief or survive their dragons dying, but become empty shells of themselves in turn. Not a true physical link, just a very, very strong emotional link.
Destiny 2 has also been confirmed for 2017. Amongst the scant rumours are that it will be available on PC (Win10 maybe via XB1) and that it will be more "mmo-like". This could simply refer to the new (play in location) play style though - exploring towns, outposts etc., with npcs, doing missions there etc. - but I suppose that would qualify as "more-mmo" like.

I was just thinking that Horizon: Zero Dawn sounds very much like Clan of the Cave Bear, except in the future instead of the past. Though I'm not into anything sci-fi, it has piqued my interest.
I don't get the exclusivity of games on certain hardware, I can understand Zelda being a nintendo exclusive, but the other 3 are not all that different. Personally not interested in any Nintendo product, there stuff is more for kids. Really don't use any of my consoles anymore, if a game is not available for the PC, I just don't bother with it. There is so much on PC anyways, never get to play all the good games out there.
I don't understand the hype about Zelda, maybe you need to be an old Zelda fan to be hyped. To me it don't look that amazing.
Yeah that is exactly what it is,nostalgia has a foothold on many people.Personally i look for a game that suits my desires,i hate Wow but if Wow all of a sudden added some expansion that was to my liking,i would play it.
I am sort of bummed Square got so greedy and lame with FFXIV's design, that was suppose to be my final destination for mmorpg gaming. Then i patiently waited for Dishonored 2,i love D1 and then it is buggy as hell, won't even play sigh.
I was thinking about Dragon Quest, however to me they are good games but not great games,i usually get bored about halfway through.Rather than get my hopes up for future gaming,i will stick to what i truly believe will come out as quality and that is the mobile FFXI remake, everything else looks to be questionable.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Scalebound seems cool but I wish they had character customization. I usually am more into games like APB Reloaded and Skyrim simply because of the character customization options. It just immerses me more if I can customize the character I'm playing.

You should be good to go since it is a single player game.
