As far as RPGs go - Bards Tale 1, mapped everything by hand on graph paper.
I did the same ... although I never did finish mapping Mangar's Tower.

One of my lost childhood treasures are those old maps.  I kept them for my entire childhood but somewhere during my transition to adulthood they were lost.  I've searched for them several times over the years but alas I think they were unknowingly discarded by my parents at some point.
I remember some of those old games came with cloth or paper maps, a large instruction manual containing everything you needed to know about the game and many NPC's and monsters, a novella, and a poster.  A lot of games listed here I had forgot I had once played.  Good times.

Now to get all of those things, you have to buy the $150+ special edition.

first one i finished was final fantasy 1. leveled up in the hall of giants for ever just to beat the last guy. that game was tough as a kid, had to read everything and figure everything out, no strategy guides or internet to help.

oh and i was pissed because after i beat the last guy it just said The End. then run credits.

My forum name was inspired by a wizard in that game.

Think the first game I completed all content for by myself would be Chrono Trigger.

EDIT: Also, there seems to be a growing amount of necro posts...

I'd have to say Mario 64, It took me so much time, since I was pretty young, but It was my "mission" to complete it at 100%.

Here's something.  My first completed series were Splinter Cell and Mass Effect, Half-Life one and two.

It was Chess titans and card PC games. Since then I love such games. I often play now on http://www.casinoz.club/casino/ . These games are easy to complete and really interesting to play.

Weird lion king game that came with the family pc 15 years ago.

I was very oblivioius of what bussinessess had to offer and really had no choice or personal perference. I lived abroad and was in a country I did not even understand the language of, so I did not even pay attention to adverts. Keep in mind i was a kid, and i think i had adhd as well.

I did have a nintendo, but i dont think I ever played a game long enough to finish, I would just restart without saving. lol

The next game would be warcraft the rts single player, then command and conquer.

    Hello all!

The very first game that I remember completing 100% was Spyro.
Not exactly hardcore gaming, but it's still one of my go to nostalgia indulgences.

If we're talking "flipped", it would be Zoom! on Sega Genesis.

I can't quite recall which one but it was either Boulderdash, Dragonriders of Pern or Frogger, all on the C64.

I think it was Blood Money (1989) by DMA Design on Amiga 500. If not, then it was Dungeon Master. I didn't complete too many games those days, so it's gotta be either one of those.

I started gaming back in 1980, most games back then didn't end. Just repeated stuff only faster. My fist game I got to the end and felt like I had become a gamer was when I conquered Ghosts 'n Goblins in 1985. That was epic. Next game big ones for me was Zelda, Mario Brothers and Metroid. Guess I have dated myself lol

First game I completed 100%, along with two friends in middle school, was Ultima IV.  We had a great time sharing our experiences and info along the way.

Guild Wars 2! I catched all achievements, expect killing 2 MILLION Dolyaks on WvW. --'

But I usually went for completionist on console games, especially within PS3; Uncharted games, LittleBigPlanet, etc...
