    Such a beautiful world....until....that. D:

I am more than intrigued and so guardedly optimistic. These folks really seem to understand what this genre needs to push itself to the next level.

I can already see a quest for these.

Harvest flower lures from 10 Flangglers for the (Insert NPC Name) wedding. They jump out of the flower vases and completely ruin the wedding eating all the wedding gifts and food.

I can sit here and watch their visuals and listen to their music choice and always just have this serene feeling. You know the environments in LOTRO were WAY ahead of their time. I found myself just sitting and looking a lot. I get the impressions that the visual impression this environment leaves when I first set foot in it and see things, will be a long lasting one similar to LOTRO. Pure artistic beauty on display every video they release.

Yeah i see some nice detail, graphics but i have distinct ideas i need to see in game design and so far it is all just ,well just promos, advertising, not enough to go on yet.

However it does do one thing,it at least catches my interest where as 99% of the junk out there, you couldn't pay me to play them.

Art and design look beautiful, no doubt. Can't wait till we can see some more gameplay!

Anyone know if melee is going to be action or TT? Sadly, TT bores me quickly :(

I want to be interested in this upcoming MMORPG, but I'm not 100% there yet. I hope to see more races that aren't just human-like.

Heard all this marketing before. It will result in a temporary debuff that is insignficant or something equally non-important.

It is funny,no doubt we all have our own preferences, nobody is right or wrong.

Personally i always enjoy tactics more so than strafing and manual aim,i enjoy the action and reaction outside of just button mashing.

Just tonight i was watching the number 1 streamer doing Destiny and he was joking about how he could literally not look at the screen and just button mash the trigger buttons on his controller,i don't want that type of gameplay.

It is the same reason i can\t stand arpg's,there is no tactics and once you have the ultimate build you can literally play with your eyes closed. However to each their own, nobody will ever make a game that caters to everyone.

    Over generalization.

Here I can do it too.

All Tab Target MMOs you can just face roll your number keys and you win.

Nothing of what you said is true or makes any sense.

You compared Destiny one of the worst examples of a properly done RPG ever.

I'd like to know how they are going to do this. Not technically, but the actual systems and scenarios. Because right now it all sounds like awesome Kickstarter slogans. And currently my capacity of giving a fuck to ambitions is full.

I really like the creativity I see in stuff like both of those two creatures. Too many games get really generic in those sorts of details. But when I see really weird, out of the ordinary stuff like that it gives me hope for the rest. That's what fantasy games should all be about.

Easy to hype things up, hard to live up to the hype. Just ask Dave Georgeson and Sean Murray.

[mod edit] They are showing exactly that what Everquest next did before it went vaporware. This here is jsut an expensive demo, hub based and linear. A single player action rpg if at all.

They haven't launched their KS campaign yet, so no one can be a backer. So... I guess that makes us all "just ordinary trolls". ;)

Guy doesn't even do any research on the game to know that a kickstarter hasn't even launched yet.

But somehow managed to find enough brain cells to make a negative post.

    Amazing.

Seems more likely at this stage some are worried this might be a resounding success. You'd have to wonder why?!

Marketing is a great idea, and as stated by the dev's (as far as they know), a first for this type of gaming. If it helps the games base participation level great. No one is forced to stay/play.

The ONE Tier (Not full MLM) is a fresh idea. If you don't like the game, don't play...simple. It subscription based, so no one is going to get rich, and its not going to be P2W!

Not all games are to everyone's liking...there a lot of new games coming that I have no intention of playing, but I don't see the need to go to those games threads and force feed others my negative opinion, which is all it is, down peoples throats, like some self appointed quality controller, and games guru.

Nor do I understand that ones persons thoughts of TT'ing (for or against), is articulated in such a narcissistic manner, that they know all, and we should (or have to) all share their thoughts. I'd there's is much more to every games likability (to each individual), than one specific point -

    - There is for me. If I had 15 key things I wanted and refused to play any game unless it ticked all 15 boxes...I might have a very long wait ahead of me. :)

We can only use the info provided by the Dev's at this time. For my opinion, I am really liking what I see and until that changes I am all for wanting to see more.

I am pleased I found the ignore button as this works well to be able to ignore the negative, for negative's sake posters (feeding the trolls).

I do enjoy the constructive feedback/questions which are excellent - I have many and I am sure these will be answered in time. I support Intrepid trying break the chains and present something fresh an new...and with what I have seen so far, I am sure they are going to be very successful with Ashes of Creation.
But that's my OPINION (yes, that's all it is, my opinion)...
I recommend if your interested in this type of game, take a look for yourself, so you can make an informed decision, based on YOUR own thoughts and feelings....for balance....don't miss what might be a great game, for the sake of a few trolls. Haters gonna hate.

Keep up the good Fantastic work Intrepid!

Well when you consider how much hype that comes out of these startups, it tends to remind you of the old fable of the boy crying wolf.

Experience shows that many of these lofty ideas never make it into the game, or if they do it is way down the line and has differences from the original line of thought.  That is of course if the game ever makes it to release.  The ability to focus on your main concepts and ignore the plethora of other wrinkles that come into play during development is a rare commodity.

Ideas are great, but a great game they do not make. The implementation of such tends to be far more difficult than was initially imagined.

So it is natural for people to display a little skepticism on any game at this stage.  I have always found if you take criticism as a method to improve your design your design will be much better for it.

I wish this development team the best, but I think many of us will remain highly skeptical of a successful end result, just do to the industry they are in.
