EverQuest News - EverQuest is celebrating its eighteen birthday in style. From now through March 31st, players can get a free heroic character just for logging in. In addition, bonus experience is being offered as well as new two new player-designed missions and a new quest as well. Lastly a new progression server will be opening this summer as was announced on a recent live stream.

    Well.

    I am sure that someone will enjoy that. But to me that game is just a "react" video waiting to happen..

    I´d love to see the average 13 year old gamer of today playing Everquest.

    That would be gold.

    To anyone that plays - What exactly is a heroic character? Played UO instead of EQ back in the day so im clueless.

    Haha, I'm with you there. The progression servers are a lot of fun. But after playing hard for a month or two and reaching max level, I come to the sudden realization I just wasted a ton of my time, and quit.

    Do I try again? :confounded:

    Apparently if you've never played before, you have to buy their all access pass to get the heroic character, which basically means paying $15. No Thanks..

    Our anniversary gift to EVERYONE who has ever played EverQuest is a FREE level 85 Heroic Character. All you have to do to take advantage of this offer is log in before Friday, March 31, 2017 @ 11:59PM PDT.

    Heroic Characters are a great way to get a head start when playing a new character, or get to caught up to friends when you come to join them on their server.

    Never played EverQuest before? No problem! This promotion is also available to new accounts if they have an All Access Membership! Being a member has its perks, and you can learn more about membership benefits here.

    Special Notes: You must log on to a server to be offered the free Heroic Character. Heroic Characters can NOT be redeemed on progression servers. This feature unlocks on a progression server after that server unlocks Call of the Forsaken.

    Yeah, should I stay or should I go. So many douche bags on progression servers at startup normally.

    I actually tried to login both EQ and EQ2 just last week and once i did,i did not last long and exited.
    it is just not fun anymore and too much wrong with the design/s.
    Imo time to move on although i do have many fond memories of playing,it was goodfor it's era but not anymore. Those progression servers is such a lame effort,they NEVER work beyond the first 1-2 months,then it is back to same old.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    Did they open another progression server ? I always start there all enthusiastic and then I fade away like a dying sun.

    I'm super confused as to why they are continuing to open progression server after progression server. Do people enjoy making a character, getting to the expansion cap it's currently at and then rerolling again? I feel like it's a waste of time, I always have fun playing my characters, not just trying to run the treadmill to the end over and over.

    You're just a tad wrong on this one buddy. Phini progression server for EQ1 has already gone past 6 month mark and I think closing in on a year? Possibly longer? I can't remember. But you're wrong, just know that :) Phini is constantly maxed out on players.
