Being it has the reality of co-op multiplayer, the P2P won't affect it much, so it's a cheap solution that should do what it needs to do.

P2P would be problematic on competitive scenarios where it easily becomes a mess. They must certainly have to had improved netcode since ME3.

I loved just playing it as a RPG.   I see a lot of hands on reviews coming out as a lot of people got to try it out for a 'short' time. Some pre-release hands-on comments were that the game was really buggy and broken in places with the occasional crash, and the pc's they ran it on were described as beefy.  Hopefully these issues will be fixed as they still have time.

I think it depends on the game.  Not entirely sure how this game will turn so idk if its good or bad.
Are you onto something or just on something?

It is always a bad idea to use P2P over having a dedicated server. If the goal is for better preform ace, if the goal is to be lazy and not write the code for the dedicated server, and make it as cheap as possible, p2p is better. Any kind of pvp in p2p is useless. The worst game that has p2p, I dono maybe they changed it I haven't played since beta was elite and dangerous. It is never good to have some one have 0ms ping, and every one else 100+, and it all hinges around some one not using their connection for something else while playing. If the game picked a host, then he decided to download a bunch of porn, well that ends that for every one but him.

Why any company picks garbage p2p is beyond me. For this game though, prolly the majority of people have 0 plans to play multiplayer so, that is prolly why.

honestly it saves us in the end. when they stop supporting it you can still play it. honestly I've played a ton of multiplayer on me3, and easily 20 multiplayer games so far on MEA. it not being dedicated is FAR FAR from the issues this game has..which are a lot.

I've spent at least 5 hours in the multi-player and have had few issues.  I have had a bit of lag, but it has been rare.  I only had one game drop so far.  Usually im all for dedicated servers.  But in this game I'm not sure if it was necessary.  I'll have to spend more time in the multi-player.  Maybe it will be more clear then.

Especially since all ME multiplayer is co-op multiplayer. If it were PvP, that'd be a whole other story since people get a lot more emotionally invested in PvP and are less tolerant of glitches that (allegedly :)) lead to their death.

This is just drop-in fun multiplayer stuff.

Probably not a mistake IMO, why invest in something that has been denuvo cracked in only 10 days?
