Let me start by saying yes – I’d love for there to be a non-gender locked class or possibly at least a male class with all the new ones being released over the past couple of years. But that complaint aside, the Valkyrie is awesome. Only Castanic women can be a Valkyrie – a massive polearm wielding melee fighter.

    True. But they originally called the class the... what was it? Paragon? Valkyrie was the voted name after.

    Looks cool, but at the same time it seems strange seeing a Valk using a polearm. Would have been better if they made the class as a shield-maiden imo.

    Long before. In fact, I think every new class added since launch has been female only. :(

    There will be a stream happening today and tomorrow at 11:00 AM PDT to 4:00 PM PDT with information all about the upcoming class, the Valkyrie.

    how about a polearm AND a shield...BDO the Valk awakening is a big !#$*# lance and she still has a shield - it's pretty sweet. Too bad Tera already has a Lancer class, lol.

    Pretty near all my chars are female Castanic anyhow, so Valks being locked to them has no real impact on me.

    The name Valkyrie was chosen in a poll by the playerbase, not by the developers.

    Its really dumb making any class gender specific. MMOrpg should be all about customization.

    I have always liked this game and I'm not big on eastern style mmos. I think I have come back to it about 4 times and never lasted more than a month each time before I leave again. Like the game, but can't stand the community.

    I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

    I do hope their next class is non locked, or maybe popori/Baraka only (male only races).

    I play male and female characters and I'd like some new class hype and look forward to making a dude. And baraka/ popori are both cool looking in their own ways (ALL tera models are pretty cool to me, tho)

    I might be way off since I'm not a programmer or designer, but I don't think it's just about gender locking. It's about model-locking, meaning they only have to design the new class to one model. Saves time and money. Throw some weak lore in to justify, and they've got the next class.

    Actually it could also be to clamp down on the racial powers of a specific class.  Potentially some racial powers are too good when combined with a prospective class.
