Why does he need to "grow up" for making a statement based on passed actions of the company?
How about YOU grow up and elaborate why you "completely disagree" and back it with some information that refutes the statements.
The funny part is most knew BRB was nixed before release (they even announced as much), yet the nixing came after the boxes had been made. In other worlds people are still bemoaning what was essentially an issue with a box mishap... As if it means anything today.. Yes they should grow up. It's like bitching about a movie cutting trailer scenes, which happens all the time.

Believe it or not its true, AOC three months in asked on there forums got a perma ban. and I did not get shity. When would the Bar Room brawling be added ?
Sure about that story? I would guess that you to did a whole lot more than just asking vulnerable and naked about BarBrawl. I played AoC quite close to launch, and I have no bad memories from that. AoC is a great game in fact, that I still log into every now and then. BarBrawl is a bullshit feature you simply don't moan about a decade later.
I sent mine Remove Denuvo, But they likely won't listen developers never listen most of the times and are always stubborn.. I don't see funcom as a good company the failure of the Original "Age OF Conan MMORPG" Game which could be made better, and The Secret World...
I wish I was there to make these games great and tell them exactly what they need to have been doing from the start.

The very nature of that question at the time was all the real reason they needed. As you did it for the same reason you're doing it here, and you know it. They decided they didn't want your business, because of your attempt to be clever, don't wanna lose your access? Don't try and be clever over issues companies had already addressed, you should use it as a lesson on what not to do.

Hmm, while I find myself playing Conan every day recently, that survey seems very disingenuous. The way the questions are asked there isn't a way to tell whether people want everything mentioned or just a subset.

Sounds pretty extreme to me if there was nothing more to the story. That's a good way to throw business away and give the company a bad rep.

Agree.. But I filled the free text section with a looong suggestion. Quite involved in fact

Please, it's utter bullshit. Elsabolt have trolled the AoC forums of mmorpg for a decade now. I think it started with him being a Warhammer fan, and AoC going head to head with Warhammer in 2008. We all know how that went.

It may be extreme, yet given the context many companies react that way. To me when folks do that kind of thing it just shows they're not there for reasoned debate or offering respectful feedback, they're there to make the company look bad, which is destined to get you a ban at some point on any official board. Take that to places like this, if you don't wanna lose access to your game...

Both games tanked?
I can understand it in AOC's case, not only did it have issues at launch, but it also had high system requirements compared to most MMOs at the time, kind of a double whammy as far as install base goes. I personally feel the game would have faired well to release a couple years later, better than it did anyway. It ran okay on my system, yet on my old roommate's ancient PC (at the time), it had some really odd things happen. Terrain disappearing, NPCs becoming unresponsive/vanishing, falling through the world a lot. ETC... His system played WOW great though which is what he stuck with.
It's kind of the same story as EQ2. Which was really hurt by system requirements back then.
Warhammer? I have no real idea what happened there TBH... Decent overall game, not so hard to run (except for that stutter), interesting innovative mechanics, perfect IP, yet it was so bland?

That makes more sense, can't honestly believe that an mmo game forum would perma-ban someone just for asking that question, unless there was more to it as you suggest.

Has there ever been a software project that can or has implement everything the designers or engineers want?
If it was my software project, and I had limited resources, I would want to know what my players want and what they would choose over other features given an unpleasant choice. What really matters to them? What can I deliver on? What fits in with the vision of the game as I see it? How does that fit in with the rest of the market and the demographic gaming trends?
People expect to see bullet points from the questionnaires directly implemented in a game, but I think it's more likely developers are trying to understand their demographic and how to build systems to appeal to them within the context of their creative vision.
Obviously you have to choose where to spend your dev money, what I'm saying is that survey won't help. The results for everyone only wanting one feature and not caring about the other 7 could be the same as people wanting all 8 to different extents. If it was the former you could spend your budject on unwanted features. An example, if you could rate your interest in the features instead of ordering them you might be able to find that 50% of your players really want one feature, but the other 50% don't want it at all, but more than 80% of them want 2 other features. In the survey they did the first feature might show up as ones or 2s for those that like it, but maybe as 5 or even 6s for those that don't, not giving an accurate view.
In short I think more data will definitely give you a clearer picture, they've only got a .5 megapixel version with digital zoom, yuck.
