WvW was great in 2012 - 2013, and then started going downhill pretty fast. Sure, there were updates to fix certain major problems, but one reason I stopped playing the game was due to a certain proverb
"He who has Asians in their server, makes for a T1 server"
and it was always he night-crew who would go around capping everything while people actually slept. I never understood why region-blocking existed in Asian PvP games until I saw the sheer amount of damage that occurs when all your efforts in the daytime get wasted by a few players putting minimal effort at night, while we are all sleeping.
The more I tried to get back into WvW,
the more boring it became.
To me, it just didn't have the drive it once had.
Anyone who enjoys WvW in gw2 seriously needs to try out AvA in ESO. It's everything that GW2 is lacking. Better laid out landmass, better placed objectives, and more open world fighting between objectives. Lets just say, you can't treb one keep from another keep in ESO.
The only thing I will say about GW2, is that the combat is fun and engaging. With combo abilities etc, there's a lot of depth to pvp. Unfortunately arena net has proven time and again it can't design a RvR type pvp map to save their lives.

A picture of me enjoying the view of my server having way too much fun! Everybody couldn't stop laughing on our discord channel, it was one of my favorite moments of us in a long, long time.
