Still no. Maybe when it.. you know.. actually releases. That's likely 2019 at this rate.
P.S. Stripe is like Paypal. Only they supposedly don't take such a high cut. BUT you get what you pay for on the internet with your personal privacy....
They do free trials time to time, you might want to wait for one and try the game for free, then you can make your own conclusion if you should buy it now or later.
I'm not sure if there is going to be another of those before 3.0 though.
Being the game still heavy at alpha, content and things to do are not its highlight for now.

The Baconator is correct. No rush.
The Devs sure aren't in one.

The game is still very unfinished. You'll be able to do some flying and some FPS, but the amount of content is more like playing a trial version than a full game.
Try the game out for free during one of their Free Fly events, they hold those every couple of months and let everyone in to test. But at this point there's no sense in buying it just yet, because even if you bought it what you'd get would be more like a ticket to wait for when they eventually (hopefully) release more content than a game you'd want to play very long right now.
If you want a space game right now, buy Elite: Dangerous.

Wait for 3.0 Patch (1-2 months away) and the free-flight events so you can try it for free.
Also LoL @ commandos suggesting Elite. Desperate much.
If one person making a suggestion of another game and another saying it's on sale is desperate, what would you class the latest referral contest for a game that is no where near completion as?
On topic Wait for a free fly weekend to try it out before you buy it as there is a lot of stuff still missing from the game and a lot of optimization that needs to be completed.

Humm well that might be because Star Citizen and Elite have actually very little in common besides the space setting. It kinda reeks of ed fanboys being a bit too desperate to push "their" game imo.
Besides why buy Elite now instead of later when it's more fleshed out and polished? Still having the same technical problems from the beginning they still don't have leg's to walk or atmospheric planets to land on and explore. And when (if) those things arrive players will need to buy them via DLC.
At least in Star Citizen you get all in one go and all gameplay mechanics are actually made to interact seamless together in a cohesive way.
Btw there's also NoManSky, EvE Online (Free), X-Rebirth, Dual Universe, Helium with the space setting going on!
Nothing has really changed in the game from last year even, that should be an influence on whether you buy the game or not, its still years away from release either way.

How is the game? Is there plenty to do or should i wait? Also What is a Stripe (credit card)?
At the moment there's not really that much to do, it's kind of fun but there's very little of it. You would be much better off waiting until patch 3.0 goes live because there should be quite a bit more content and it'll feel much more worth your money OR wait until they do one of their free-fly weeks, they hold them very regularly as they try to entice new backers into the game.
If subsequently or at some later point prior to launch you decide to "buy" i.e. back the Kickstarter then you have to think of it along the lines of a pre-order. Like people who pre-ordered the last WoW xpac say more than 10 months before it launched not knowing the precise release date or what the specific content would be / how much of it there would be.
People should only buy the game now if they want to support the most ambitious video-game ever attempted , those looking for a finished and polished experience should hold on to their gold while the dream comes true.

And who mentioned Referral codes here?
Of course they have very little in common, one is lost in limbo the other is fully released with a bunch of features the first wishes it already had available.
And if you think Elite isn't fleshed out enough what's SC exactly, just forming the marrow?
You bang on about needing to buy DLC for Elite well what do you think would've happened with SC if they hadn't managed to fleece cash left right and centre out of gullible saps by selling promises for $500+ a pop?
That's right Sherlock they would've either a) had a bare bones game with nothing being added to it or b) gone the DLC route to continue expanding upon it.
You're saying about how in SC you get all in one go but let's be honest here that's a hope at this point and nothing more.
As for other games NoManSky bombed on release not too sure how it is now but why would anyone suggest it? Then on to EvE, I mean really why would anyone that is looking for a flight sim style space game want to play EvE? It would be like asking for an Action game and suggesting C&C.
And as for someone who rabidly defends SC accusing anyone else of fanboyism and desperation well damn, I've got nothing.
I'd wait til beta and hopefully the game will be more fleshed out by then, it's still pretty concept heavy at this point.

You agree with me that Star Citizen is not really ready to be played yet, but you immediately attack me when I try to suggest some other game while waiting

I didn't attacked you for suggesting another game, I laughed at the suggestion of Elite Dangerous to someone that seems interested in Star Citizen, it's like suggesting EuroTruck Simulator to someone interested in GTA5. Hence the laughter.

Is there really any better game?
I agree that Elite: Dangerous isn't very close match to Star Citizen. But it's close enough, new, and good game.
I think it's better to recommend than Vendetta Online or Star Trek Online. Freelancer or X-Rebirth along with other games of X series might offer an experience closer to Star Citizen than Elite: Dangerous does, but they're already a bit older games, and not really that close either. EVE Online, No Man's Sky, Space Engineers, Kerbal Space Program, FTL: Faster Than Light, and various space strategy games have all their own strong points, but the experience isn't anything even remotely like Star Citizen.
I think out of all the games that are a bit like Star Citizen, Elite: Dangerous is the best one to recommend.
Which game should I have recommended so that you wouldn't have laughed at it?
Which game should I have recommended so that you wouldn't have laughed at it?
There isn't one and that's why Star Citizen get's so much support. Normally when people come asking about Star Citizen is because they saw some trailer or some demo about it and found it interesting enough to ask. Suggesting Elite is laughable because the gameplay it offers is very different from what you already have in Star Citizen and what is going for.

If you want to help with Alpha testing, you may want to THEN join with a starter package if you liked the trial.
If you want a finished, completely tested, polished game ... i recommend you wait until the game launches.
Have fun
