It takes a while but it is easy. Most of the quests are go here talk to this person then teleport somewhere else talk to someone else. Then every 5 to 6 quests you go kill 3 enemies, then you go do the talking quests again. They are really boring, not very fun to keep doing over and over, but afterwards it's pretty worth it. Heavensword was really fun.
Forcing people to do crappy content in order to get to the fun part is a stupid business plan.
I get what you are saying , somewhat , But most FF fans go into for the story and its a big part of the game .. Its a great story to boot ..
And for many FF players the story is the FUN part ..
Also in my opinion and i have played it right thru up to the current content .. The fun part(as you put it) is the same at vl 50 as it is at end game current ... Other than some pixels and effects changing on mobs , whats the fun part ... you speak of ..
at lvl 50 you go into a dungeon .. Focus fire Boss ....
Dont stand in that ...
Focus Add...
Dont stand in this....
Move to this side ...
Focus Boss to 20%
Focus add..
Dont stand in that .... and at end game content .. guess what same exact thing
Its the same at 50 and at end game the only thing that actually changes is go figure .................the

I think that was the point of the OP complaint. Sure the quest aren't difficult but they are lengthy and repetitive which makes it really frustrating going through it if you only want to play new content.
So sounds like you still have to quest in order to obtain other classes? This game has some great class mechanics and fun extras, but I HATE solo questing, and I don't think you should be forced to quest to get to other content or to obtain other classes.
I think yes for the older classes you do need to level a class to 15, but none of the new classes have that requirement, you also don't need to level other classes for cross class skills once StormBlood hits.
I think it's some of the seemingly "gratuitous" fetch quests that can get annoying.
For me, playing thru the first time, I enjoyed and was fine with the ARR quests, but I admit it was a struggle a bit at first with the 7th Astral Era quests, but by the end, I was into the quest line, and absolutely loved it. That said, if you'd cut out a few of the fetch quests, I would not have been unhappy.
Truth be told, the fetch quests bother me less when there are other side/hub quests that I'm busy doing. After the fact, I had someone tell me to level a "first" character just via the main quest line, and leave the side quests for running an alt up. Now I understand that....but...in all? For me, I do enjoy the story.
I guess WoW has a lot of content because they have 5 different levels of difficulty for each thing they put out which is pretty much obsolete after each major patch. The joys of content....

And right now it's really easy to catch up, since tons of people are catching up at the moment, so fast queue times.
