I'm going to assume you haven't read the article that was written, so look for it here: http://www.mmorpg.com/newsroom.cfm/read/40440/Kern-Gauging-Support-for-Spiritual-Successor-to-Firefall.html

this forum post is intended to keep you up to date with events and progress related to ember.

The article doesn't have a direct link to the petition, so here it is: https://www.change.org/p/crixa-labs-make-ember-a-spiritual-successor-to-firefall

now as for updates: we are almost at 1500 signatures, but we need a lot more, so sign the petition if you want to see this happen.

at 1000 signatures, a kickstarter was posted for $500 to make a website.  It filled up in less than an hour, and then doubled over the rest of the week.

Work on the website, which will be at emberthegame.com, is underway, and we have a discord server as well as a league for gamers group, links to those are here: http://forums.firefall.com/community/threads/ember-a-spiritual-successor-to-firefall-video-from-lor_nikon.8693982/

That's it for now

I just realized who that was!!! It's an honor to be recognized.  I wanted an official role on the project, but didn't get it.  Still a part of the community though.

    2 things:

    1. You pointed out it was you who gave mmorpg the pointer for this, several times...
We get it you want to be associated with this project badly, chill.

    2. The majority said that Kern is clueless and a revival after 2 years is plain hilarious - this is just another cheap kickstarter project.

No need to be rude to him.  He's excited to share the project with everyone.

He could have posted the update in the original thread - you know.. the one where everyone made clear that no one has faith in Kern or any interest in a remake of the game?

    News:

Mr. Kern has sait tht at $2000 he will create more concept art as well as orthographics for the omniframe.  As of this writing we are $15 away from that.  Also, to help reach that goal, he created a new $35 package.  Info here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ember-forums-website-art#/updates

We are still gaining signatures, but it is slow going.  If you are reading this and haven't signed, consider doing so by clicking the link above (i'm not reposting the link because that would be spam.)

    More news as it happens.

No one? Speak for yourself.  Given that the final round of funding for the demo has topped $107,000, when only $20,000 was needed, says that there are still people who not only believe in Mark Kern, but are willing to back him with their money.

    Petition closed?

And might I suggest a kickstarter with a better game engine and everything as well as Anti-Cheat, a reputable anti-cheat if it has pvp?

Edit: Oh and they got Indegogo, are they using the same game engine and stuff from  Fire-Fall already created a 100k budget seems kinda small to do things properly?

Speaks for itself that you quote me on a year old thread.

Well let's put it this way: You kickstarter folks are a special kind.

But well I'm sure Mark Kern is a genius, the flaws of Firefall will be purged with this kickstarter and the new game will be delivered in a timely manner and exceed all expectations.

And they lived happily ever after.
