Let's Play Ragnarok Journey
Dear gamers,
We use well-defined scales to understand whether intergenerational play affects your perceptions towards old people. There are some negative statements about old people in the survey. However, the purpose is to balance positive and negative statements to improve the validity of the survey rather than make you hate old people. Some respondents may not read each statement if all of the statements are either positive or negative.
Thanks,
Emily
I think it could have been done better as your definition of "old" seems to be 55+.
My Dad is 59, works full time, goes out drinking / dancing etc, pretty much has the same sort of lifestyle as any normal employed bloke aged 30+. My Grandad, on the other hand, is 85, is getting dementia, smells like piss, can't hold a conversation and has views stuck in the 1950s.
My answers are very different for the different ranges of "old".
I know plenty of interesting 55-65 year olds, but once people start retiring and the ravages of ageing start to kick in during the 65-70 kinda range, I stop being able to relate to them and lose interest in spending any time with them. There are obviously exceptions at all age ranges.
My mom did show some interest to what I play, but haven't experienced the gaming herself yet.
Though, I do believe, it's going to change eventually.
