imagev4.0 Now Named 'Maelstrom', Set to Launch December 6th - ArcheAge - MMORPG.com

ArcheAge News - The next major ArcheAge update is v4.0. We now know that it is called "Maelstrom" and will be launching in both North America and Europe on December 6th. Anchoring the update are a number of improvements and additional features including a reworked Gem system, an open world raid finder, updates to crafting and the addition of Bloodsalt Bay, a naval PvP arena.

    ArcheAge is still one of the best experiences I ever had in the MMO genre. This happened during beta, of course. Once it launched... RNG loot boxes, gold farmers, bot, etc etc etc. So lame.

    yep i would go back to archeage in a second if they got rid of or lowered the amount of items in the cash shop.

    Some things are so good you gotta say them twice, but it looks like they'll do them next year, just not this year, so they can "get them right" apparently.

    While searching around the Android Play Store i found AA for mobile and out of curiosity tried it out. I'm not sure if it was just a tutorial since it was pretty long but AA mobile was just a single player prequel to the PC version where i was playing with the heroes that are always mentioned on PC (Kyprosa, Ollo, Tahyang, etc).

    I wish AA on PC had better management running it, it had so much potential.

    This thing is deadito. The expansion will probably take people into the new year then go back to tumbleweed. The Fresh Start servers have guilds/nations calling it quits. They've already merged the F out of it. Merged the Auction Houses even more. They will probably announce another Fresh Start to try and wrangle the remaining whales who haven't beached themselves, and the new plebingtons who don't know any better. THIS is what happens when you go full retard on capitalism. The bubble pops.

    Terrible business model really hurt this great game. I loved it until the TS boxes and all the other P2W stuff was added.

    I agree, they could've easily had at least one server be p2p with cosmetic CS at most.

    I sometimes think that some people think Trion owns XLGames in some way, or at least is in control of them.
    It's something i've seen with BDO too, Kakao gets the blame for not allowing SA players into the NA/Euro servers despite the fact that Kakao doesn't own Pearl Abyss, or have the rights to other areas outside of NA or Europe.
    Is Trion for example, to blame for Archeage in Russia or Korea? because the way some people go on about Trion, you would think they were. :/

    Trion is shit whether or not they are to blame for "Archeage in Russia or Korea."

    Trion doesn't own XLgames but they DO manage thier NA market and have the rights associated with that such as marketing as they see fit and selling in game items/packs/etc. Trion is what ruined AA. The cash shops and greed, all Trion. Plenty of other marketing teams have done much better jobs with games that had less potential than AA. There are games on the horizon that have the same feel of AA minus Trion, like Bless. I'm waiting for those.

    All they need to do is open a Sub Only Server with a Cosmetic Only Cash Shop .. And it would become the most populated server overnite .. Would most likely need to open several ... But its success would prove they dont know what they have been doing for 4 years now ...

    I know this is an older post but if fresh start servers opened under these rules and it stayed that way, I'd have a new character made immediately.
