Photographer Jeff Shewmon (Olem Falla) focuses the Citizen Spotlight on stunning portraits he took at Versecon 2017, and then Will Maiden does more than just talk about cargo during Quantum Questions. The cargo demo starts at 3:49.

Other destinations that showed up when the dev was at Hex were:
1. ArcCorp Mining Area 157
2. Deakins Research Outpost
3. Talarine Divide Emergency Shelter
4. Nakamura Valley Emergency Shelter
5. Benson Mining Outpost
6. Kosso Basin Emergency Shelter
7. Aston Ridge Emergency Shelter

Picture from Ship Shape showing container types.

    Trading Console

We see in video "6 units" being what both boxes held, and in the end we see him buying 8 units of agricultural stuff and we see 2 "small boxes" in cutlass. This makes small box either 6 or 7 units.

    Different size crates.

While I agree it looks very interesting we shouldn't forget that this is a very early implementation of the cargo system and all of it is subject to change. I do like that when you buy cargo at a Kiosk it shows up in your ship as I was a little concerned about loading cargo as it was explained earlier in the development.

They said a while ago that when you buy cargo you would have to load it yourself or hire someone to load it. While this does sound cool on paper it would get ridiculously tedious the 100th time you had to do it. There is a fine line between realism and tedium. I'm glad that they realize this and are taking steps to reduce the tedium that certain activities like cargo loading would needlessly introduce.

Now I'm also glad that they made it so you still have to load wreck and salvage cargo manually because this actually adds game play and not tedium. You will have to do these activities quickly and efficiently due to the fact that you are probably not the only one who would want that cargo.

You have little chance of being jumped while loading in a controlled spaceport(Tedium) but this doesn't apply when conducting a salvage operation(Emergent Game play). The fact that they seem to be seeing this gives me hope that this game will make even traditionally boring occupations like cargo hauling and salvaging a fun and engaging experience.

LMAO the most basic of basic stuff and people losing their minds. When putting a crate to haul somewhere is the savior to 'the most ambitious space game ever' it shows just how far expectations of this fiasco have fallen.

Seriously its a crate that you load through a terminal or one that (I guess) you pick up and drop. if this was any other game people would be excoriating the animations during the drop as well as pick up actions. How many games suck because of combat animations?

Not to mention the whole video and cut aways didnt really show the complete process people can claim its a 'flowing' video with cut away 'commentator' shots I said it awhile ago that it was a produced video made to look like it was continuous and free flowing with no bugs or issues.

Just another in the long list of things they show that look 'perfect' then mysteriously never make it into the public builds. But even if it does its still a throw away portion of a video game. Its not even 'crafting' its a box that appears and disappears, or 'best' case scenario you pick it up and put it somewhere. Yeah reeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllyyyyy 'innovative'.

bwwaahaaaaaa like I say the mentality of people grasping at any and every straw to spin something positive in on display here in spades.

I don't see anyone "Losing their mind" over anything here. A video was released and we are discussing it... that's it. You are the only one I see "Losing their mind" over this. If you have some actual criticisms of the video that aren't conspiratorial in nature I'd love to hear them. Right now your post reads more like autistic screeching than a coherent criticism. You may want to turn it down a notch.

This video was taken right out of footage from the current test build. Yes there were some cuts to make the video more on point and to cut out watching 3-10 minutes of travel time. All of the actual cargo parts were not cut however and that is what is being discussed here.

Oh and one more thing. I just love this conspiratorial narrative that they are deceptively editing footage to hide bugs. That must be why they literally produce a weekly report detailing all of those pesky bugs they are intentionally hiding. This must be why every time we get a live demo or a video showing uncut footage we always see those pesky bugs they are intentionally hiding. If they are deceptively trying to hide bugs they obviously are not doing a very good job.

A weekly report that has changed how they do it almost every time they release it? That report? Its one thing to see a report that lists bugs its another to see a video where the game actually freezes. remember when CR (in)famously (tried) to 'play' his game on a live stream? And he couldnt even get the computer started? Yeah that had a lot more impact than if someone 'claimed' it happened or wrote about what happened.

People would say it was fake just like they spin every report that comes out as not being 'the whole picture'.

I also seem to remember seeing someone claim that because of this video the 'salvation of gaming was at hand'. And the reddits are also going crazy with rabid fanboys.

I call them like I see them, at best they have a core function that most people dont even pay attention to when theyre actually play a game theyre 'highlighting' as some great advancement. At worst their 'faking' the 'success' of said 'advancement'. the 'truth' is probably somewhere in the middle.

It defies logic that despite their own self generated reports (with dozens of bugs) and leaked 'info' that the 3.0 test bed is riddled with bugs and glitches and crashes, every time there is an 'official' 'gameplay' video there isnt a single solitary issue whatsoever. Not even lag. THATS what I (continue) to take exception to.

if theyre going to show 'gameplay' footage show it. Raw and unedited. But they cant and they wont and anyone with half a brain knows why.

....and what exactly does any of this have to do with the cargo systems? That is the topic of this thread in case you forgot.

Love CIG's approach to immersion. Making your cargo actual physical objects that you can touch and manipulate will go a long way towards creating a sense of purpose and tangible realism that games like EVE and ED couldn't begin to achieve.

Not to mention all the gameplay opportunities involved with physical cargo in many scenarios.
