So your saying they made the models too realistic.......
I find it hard to believe that showing a female in her underwear is somehow more offensive than a game about slaughtering 100 people, for what amounts to no other reason than because they are there.
It's no wonder our youth are so screwed up. Think of what message your actually sending them.
Killing people is fine, but girls are dirty.
madness......
The notion of video games teach players that killing is OK is as wrong as the notion that cameltoe underwear promotes rape.
The REAL WORLD is where people learn their behavior -
like being repeatedly abused as a child by family members - that makes killers and rapists.
get real people
If THAT was true than they wouldn't use simulations in the military, or for pilots or for any other reason.
Even if your 100% though right about not learning behavior in games. By removing the model in a game about killing people. They, and society, are both saying that seeing people die, and killing them virtually, is inherently less bad than seeing a virtual avatar in her underwear.
I'm not particularly offended by this, "Fan Service" is not a new concept. I realize that some people want this.......What I don't get is.......Why? What does this add? What does this bring to the table? More players? Does this contribute to player retention? If this is what it takes to bring in New blood or to keep veterans around, this is probably the wrong game for me.
Well, there's a certain "fun" in titillation. One of the reasons I love the sexploitation films of '70's. So bad they're good sort of thing.
But there is a time and place. As for this, They shouldn't change one bit on that model as long as they do the same with the males. Not that I want to look at that but if they do it for one they need to do it for the other.

Whether or not it's inoffensive to certain people, it certainly wasn't asked for (...probably) despite the high probability of offending a decent chunk of people (and really making no sense within the context of the game). Hence the need for an apology.
...but yea, how did that happen? Actually modelling THAT much detail down there is kinda something you have to go out of your way to do...
In Korea this is actually quite common, this was done by a Korean game artist. This is very desirable to Korean male gamers - so thats why it happened.
There is an entire culture of "female underwear fetish" that is commom in parts of Asia that is tabooo in the west.
I'd venture to say that most women don't want to see those sorts of details depicted on their characters. Maybe it's not the same for most males with regard to their own. I don't know.
While not offended, I find that it's just unnecessary and only there for the titillation factor since it serves no purpose for game play. All I picture in my mind's eye are a bunch of prepubescent boys giggling while looking at it while elbowing their buddy. Silly.
As the Twitter guy said, "rookie mistake".
Judging by your comments and justification as to why you feel the inclusion of such a feature is unnecessary, I'd have to say that you are quite offended. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with those feelings. Nor anything wrong with openly expressing them.
I find it sad, though quite understandable considering how far afield from the topic this thread has wildly already traveled, that in today's outrage bound climate people are afraid to openly speak their mind.
This reminds me of an episode of Babylon5. When the show shamelessly plugged the action figures for the characters and the Centauri were all offended because the dolls were not created anatomically correct as they were supposed to be. LOL
It is interesting. In the west some see it as them trying to sexualize the female model or whatever and the person over in the east who did it probably did it cause they thought it was a normal average thing.

No worse than the outfits many of the ladies here wear during the summer. Hell, just about every women's bathing suit sold today is at least as 'bad'. Hardly anything to get worked up over, really.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

I wonder how triggered they get when a Victoria Secret add comes on the tv. We can't have you shooting people in your knickers.
People in front of congress there to answer to their own undoing yet plead the 5th with a smile on their face while screwing over citizens, no one bats an eye.
Doesn't offend me at all (heck, so many movies i the 70's showed at LEAST as much), but it really is unnecessary and I agree "amateur hour" or at least someone who doesn't know when to turn off his 14 year old self.
I'd be very surprised if it was a woman who made this.
This is the problem, the rot, in video games. Too many little boys who go unchecked. No matter their age.
Again, not an issue, I'm for games that show this if they are a type of game that is based on this type of art design (which sadly means men but tit for tat) but for a game like this I'm surprised it made it into the files.
Honestly I think it has less to do with prepubescent giggling than post modern lack of taste. There is a place for Leisure Suit Larry, not that anyone would survive making such a game in today's society that is both puritanical and awash in pornography. There's just no sense what is appropriate or attractive any more. It's a Mylie Cyrus world.
Except "lack of taste" has always been a part of the human condition.
Having male genitalia "pointing the way" to brothels in Pompeii (on the building walls and sidwalks), risque chanson in the renaissance and the appearance of decorum on the outside while behaving otherwise behind closed doors in the Victorian era are just a few examples.
Anything that's going on now has gone on before. We're just more publicly acquainted with it because of how media/the internet spreads information.
That vulgarity has always existed is no reason to accept it as commonplace. Men have been waving their junk at women unbidden for as long as there have been men and women. That doesn't make it innocent and unremarkable as so many have recently rediscovered. Some things are civilized and some aren't.
That's not my point. You said it had to do with "postmodern lack of taste" and my point is that this "lack of taste has always been there".
Sure! No one wants to have something thrust into their face or get groped or anything like that, against their will nor should they have to suffer through that.
But It is not a new thing and certainly not post modern or modern or anything along those lines.

Either way its dumb and pointless, no real point in having realistic genitals in the game. What was there however, wasn't exactly cutting edge levels of offensiveness. Imagine all the angry moms shouting at the discovery channel when they show topless aboriginals in a jungle.
Humans do have genitalia. No sh**??? Move along.
Nothing to really freak out about. To me it's on the same level as people who cover their kids eyes when they go to the zoo and an elephants penis is in view. Aside from the reasons people think it's inappropriate, It's still a pathetically prudish level of self censorship and paranoid shame over human anatomy that's taking place over this. It's also sexist against men because of the highly ignored double standard regarding the man bulge not causing any sort of stir, and the amount of feminist rage in play over this is unwarranted. You prudes are revolting.

The only thing post modern here is the outrage it's causing. We're so prudishly cultured that we seek out things to find sexually offensive. Even if it's not sexual in and of itself. PUBG hasn't expressed anything sexual. Prudes simply have a warped sense of sexuality.
We're gradually moving towards a politically correct world where even "artistic nude drawings" will be classified as explicit pornography. Down the rabbit hole we go.
It's also sexist against men because of the highly ignored double standard regarding the man bulge not causing any sort of stir, and the amount of feminist rage in play over this is unwarranted. You prudes are revolting.
Well, I was following you up to this point and then you just went off the rails.
Had there actually been a model with "man bulge" it would have gotten the same reaction. No different.
Has nothing to do with feminist rage.
If people don't want to see female genitalia then they certainly don't want to see any bulges.
