Hiya! Just wondering what RP communities are the most active you think? Guild Wars 2 is a little silent since the mass-server thingy, Black Desert Online looks promising. FFXIV does as well, any other suggestions?
There are a ton of active roleplay communities that aren't in MMOs at all, so you may want to clarify your assumptions a bit.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story. So PM me if you are starting one.
FFXIV has plenty of if you go to the right places\server. I've seen some of it Neverwinter aswell (recently came back to it), and i bet WoW still has alot of it. I'm on Landroval server on LOTRO, and while i don't frequent cities like Bree, i would say it's pretty crowded with RP aswell.
FFXIV is probably the biggest of them all. BDO's is still good too though. I remember seeing your name on there around launch, Kat.

All the games mentioned above have good roleplay. But in my experience its more down to the guild you join. Make sure your guild has good roleplay and you can roleplay in the most anti-roleplaying of MMOs.
I remember once in PS2 doing a advertising broadcast for the Vanu, "Join up now" sort of stuff. Some players replied "Roleplaying on here?" But others had some fun advertising their faction. You can find roleplaying anywhere, but a good guild really make a MMO in regards to roleplaying.

Pretty much this. You can enjoy very good RP in WoW if you're with the right people. And I don't mean "Pornshire" RP, right? ;-)
I can't even be sure of the name now was it Summershire or something? I found it not to bad when I was in it, but I may have had regional chat off as I sometimes do.
I agree that he measn in MMOs, but the OP should look to actual TTRPGs in the virtual tabletop format imo. Way better than the very minimal interface of MMOrpgs, Fantasy grounds or Roll 20 are good choices.
MMORPG players are often like Hobbits: They don't like Adventures

Almost like they mentioned a few names of MMOs, and almost like we are all on a forum for MMOs...
I did in fact notice that. But personally I've done and seen waaaay more roleplaying on forums than in MMOs, so I wanted to make sure the OP was aware that most roleplayers don't roleplay within MMOs. The mechanics of an MMO are often quite disruptive to roleplaying within them, in fact.

Can I at least assume that we're not talking about table top RP games like D&D?
