Its open world pvp at a certain level
However...
Never once been killed in PvP, but maybe thats cause I don't farm the popular areas. But some people make it out they are killed everywhere all the time. But I usually run all over the map exploring and doing random stuff and still never get killed lol. If I see someone farming somewhere, I farm the same area but I don't take his farm spot...guess some people don't pay attention if someone is there before and then get killed.
But then if you get killed...so?
its better to die in pvp than pve
No exp loss, no item loss (except crystals, not a big deal) no durability loss...nothing...
Even I, the most care of carebears, an ultimate ultra carebear, the best carebear, no one is a better carebear than I am believe me I know what is best about being a carebear, I have a bigger carebear rainbow button than any other carebear, in fact my worst enemy has the tiniest carebear rainbow button that doesn't even work, mine actually works, enjoys BDO PvP lol.
I hate deathmatch pvp MMOs, but BDO does it in a way where its the first sorta sandbox MMO that isn't hardcore PvP lol.

Of all the games I have played with Open World PVP I would say Black Desert has the most passive of them all.
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
Sure in BDO you can get together run a node war every so often if you count that as PVP, or just run around flagging and pvp on random people, but true PVP is like Dark Fall, or other similar games that come out in the future, or are in development.
Let me know if I have missed a true PVP Game besides Albion that is full loot and actual PVP / Player Skill Based?
That said, people are still playing this thing?
And there are always tons of people on every channel everywhere you go.

one of the most played MMOs on steam if not the most played as far as MMOs go. Of course, that is steam numbers. That doesn't factor in (nor factor in other steam hosted MMOs like ESO) the non-steam versions of BDO and other MMOs that can be played off steam.
But looking at steam numbers for BDO, that is pretty good I think. And actually seeing people everywhere in game, its really popular.

But then we know this is not the case as there are far more imbalances than just gear.
True PVP has nothing to do with balance or fairness. Never did. It's about besting your opponent by any means necessary, fair or unfair. If that means 10v1, so be it. You bested your opponent. People talk about PVP as if chivalry was involved.
Additionally, some pvp players just can't keep it in their pants and they will verbally attack you. Interesting enough, and from my experience, a good many (not all) will cry like a little child if you give them as good as you got.
There is an investment of the personal for some people. If they can only learn to separate themselves and just hit "return to town" or wherever, they would do much better. Or, get yourself in pvp shape and try to take them on.
That's why I got so high in Lineage 2, there was a perma-red player (not a bad guy actually) named EvilSeed who killed me 3 times. So I worked on my character and worked and pretty soon I was not easy meat on the siege field or in world pvp but I still worked and worked so I would be "uber ready" and then he got banned and I never exacted my revenge.
the end.
A real lesson for our times.

Everything you do in BDO is to upgrade your gear or acquire in game money just because.
