I'm normally not in favor of designs which erase my progression, but I've learned to measure progress across all accounts and characters.
This was a big concern of mine too when first looking at CoE, but you actually don't lose your progression. It remains attached to your soul when you inhabit a new body. So as long as your skill focus remains the same you bring it with you, resulting in being able to advance faster in that skill. In addition to that, you are supposed to able to train your intended heir to focus on your desired skills before inhabiting their bodies.
This entire topic, and 5 pages of replies so far.. are all because a game developer validated that they are not going to put in a feature, they never said they were going to put in to start with.
In case anyone was wondering what is going on here.
But it did raise good questions such as:
1) How many players will be supported per battle? 2) How will "sovereignty" change hands? 3) Will central trading hubs arise or will the lack of fast travel mean a more disbursed economy?
Which really is the point of forums I think, to share information and generate discussion.
and having those concerns buried on page 'whateverthefuck' on an unrelated topic, helps how?
If they matter, and are a concern of yours, start a topic on them, so we can discus them in depth and also open the door for others who also share those concerns to join on that discussion.
You may not have noticed but despite my post count I rarely start new threads preferring to only do so for topics I feel are original and underserved. People rarely respond btw, usually not sensational enough.
I'd much rather build on, repurpose or redirect a thread which is unfocused or run its course as long as not too far off topic.
Hence we had a good exchange of information on the first introduction of the automated round hay bailer in a Wild West Online thread.
As for these discussions "helping" I have no such illusions that they can or will. Maybe over on the official forums (which I'd never last long on) but here it's strictly for entertainment purposes, and not much more.
