World of Darkness News - Paradox Interactive's investor report contains a couple of very interesting snips of information for fans of both World of Darkness and Vampire: The Masquerade. CEO Fredrik Wester wrote that both IPs will "step up their visibility in the market by organizing community activities" and more. For World of Darkness, Wester said that "progress is being made with White Wolf Entertainment's efforts to develop" the game. A new fifth edition board game will be launched for Vampire: the Masquerade.

Awesome news.
Since there is really nothing to go on here other than talk about buying up businesses that likely were or have failed,so they get them cheap,we have to form some kind of conclusion by reading inside the lines.
All i get from this is judging how the entire industry is operating, they will go into some kind of partnership with White Wolf via crowd funding or some way to get free money.
Why i don't like this idea or ANY KS'r is when they went on their own accord/risk it was a fail and pulled the plug but now seeing all this free money floating around from VERY foolish people, they figure WHY NOT,let's grab some of that money, nothing to lose.
So if they get enough free money as well a possible investor or two they will actually step up and continue to produce.IMO already a fail,no guarantee income, obviously a VERY high risk investment since was already a fail,i just don't see anything good here, just Paradox sending in word to get some buzz media attention.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
IMO not very good news reporting,i bet more liek Paradox sent this in and it is just pasta copied. If staff is going to post this stuff,i suggest doing some actual homework and give us real inside news on what is happening because as i stated in first post, there is really NOTHING talked about at all other than the carefully chosen word "visibility".
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Most all if not all of their portfolio is strategy/sim games,so an online vampire game would imo be out their realm but not impossible.
I see this more as perhaps a look at us buy our tickets.Pricing seems on par with high level entertainment sports but to me,paying ridiculous prices to listen to some people talk is nuts, especially since all it really is just advertising talk.
IMO these gamecons should be free, you want me to take notice of your products, your lucky if i show up,but no way in hell am i paying you to talk about your products.
My point is that this PDX game con seems to be not for another few months yet,so we won't be hearing anything until then.

Something to scratch the vampire itch with or let yourself fall into torpor.
CCP (the makers of Eve) had bought White Wolf and was going to do the game, but then after 3 different baseline iterations they were like, no we can't do this.
Paradox has had the rights for quite a long time, and we haven't heard anything about it.
This can be a good sign, as if they have some stuff already baselined and ready to show.
Or it can be a bad sign as if they are now like "we own this IP and we have to do something with it"

I'm more focused on what they intend to do with World of Darkness. I'll have to dig into this a bit more when I have more time.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
They probably saw how Wizard of the Coast was milking every D&D editions with lots of paid supplements and realized it was just like how they did DLCs for their own games...
EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests
We run White Wolf quite seperately from Paradox Interactive to make sure it gets the focus it needs and that we can do the business deals necessary which is one of the reasons you will se the Werewolf game from Focus Home and Cyanide coming: http://werewolf-videogame.com
The return of VtM with the rules improvemnts from VtR as a irl rpg is enough for me.
Any videogame.... well... it would be hard to capture the world of the RPG.
This have been a good conversation
Keep an eye on www.worldofdarkness.com and our social media feeds for updates. This will be an exciting year with our 5th edition TTRPG game coming among other things.

I have GURPs Vampire: The Masquerade Game Book made by Steve Jackson whom is a American Game Maker and Publisher. His Game Book has the same material in it that White Wolf does. The VM could be done anywhere with any citymap in the world. If you use the exact stats in making character sheets it can be even played online with Game Engine Characters. I BOUGHT THE BOOK IN 1995 AND I SEEN STEVE JACKSON at an Comicon in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, even I could make a company to bring VTM back on the internet all I need is your copyright blessings and computer software to do it.
Tobias Sjogren, CEO White Wolf Entertainment; I think your a coward in ditching WOD! A BOARD GAME OF VTM BLOODLINES FOR GODS SAKE all you have to do is have VTM: Bloodlines on Steam have an MMORP format and you would get players like me willing to shell out money. I BOUGHT THE GURPS BOOK BY STEVE JACKSON Vampire: The Masquerade wayback when and mostly all you need is a stinking Game Mode Engine! Add Game Maps from any World Atlas, pictures of buildings etc then add the Character Sheets to make Vampires, Werewolves and Ghouls! Or is Whitewolf not a risktaker.....BOARD GAME MY FOOT, GURPS GOT EVERYTHING IN IT FOR VTM that can be played anywhere, any time online if people want to gather and make a game. IT IS THAT SIMPLE.
