I really like this version of DF as it is close to what was promised in the 2008 trailer. I would wait until the magic patch arrives. The magic patch will remove greater and lesser magic and you get very important spells right from the start for utility.
I think DF had its fair shot, i think they blew it for the most part. If they have a good following then more power to them. I dont think i will be returning tho.
It certainly doesn't have what you might call modern graphics but the mechanics seem to be solid. If you're a fan of the original, and don't mind the servers being in Paris, I'd give it a try.

actually if you were interested in DFO and left the first two months because it wasnt what was advertised you are the target group of DND
Honestly I'd love to try it but I don't think I'm willing to pay a subscription. I did it with albion online and regretted it a lot, it's a shame though as it looked like something I'd enjoy. Maybe when there will be a trial something
Its pretty damn fun man... I've been spending almost no time with harvesting/crafting... but mostly looking for PVP as a total noob (winning more than losing while solo and behind others) and also I've spent lots of time moving my gear to enemy territory banks.
I highly recommend grinding up whenever you can in enemy lands... just take a risk and find a good chaos bank to call home in various nooby hotspots.
While grinding you should run into others around your level often that way!!

ITs just a few bucks and if you thought Albion was interesting but didnt enjoy it because of the isometric way the game works i would for sure try out darkfall. As you feel connected to your char. Its like the morrowind online we never got.
I've been toying with giving this game a shot for a while... mostly because there aren't any other decent MMO's out at the moment. I really wish they had a trial of some kind.
It baffles me that this game isn't as big as Fortnite. As an old school gamer its still my favourite thing.
Playing: Darkfall New Dawn (and planning to play Fallout 76) Favourite games have included: UO, Lineage2, Darkfall, Lotro, Baldur's Gate, SSX, FF7 and yes the original Wizardry on an Apple IIe

If they turn it into a BR game with a flying bus and parachutes Fortnite and DND are not in the same genre there is no way Fortnite players would be interested in this, you would stand more chance of persuading League of Legends players to play DND than Fortnite ones. The type of player that DND is aimed at is a particularly small niche to begin with, it was never going to be a hugely populated game
I agree it wont attract the younger ones, I meant that it should attract old school players and be as popular in that market as Fortnite is in the younger market.
I can't be the only 50+ YO player that's looking for the best thing since UO.
And there is no recurring sub, you just pay the initial 10 bucks and you are in. Can't think of a better $10 spent, hell my lunch yesterday was more than that.
Apologies, I should have been clearer.

the game is dead because the Devs left. Company is in liquidation. Game is still online but ofc nearly no one plays. Just a few to claim villages to keep holdings or houses IF they continue development but i doubt it

That's just New Dawn. Rise of Agon still is in active development, and is trying out different monetization in the future.

Well, this Forum is for New Dawn. But yes Rise of Agon is the last Darkfall Game with currently active development.
