World of Speed News - The World of Speed team has taken to the Steam early access page to inform players that v0.2 has been deployed. The patch brings a massive number of changes and improvements to the game including an overhauled upgrade system, balance tweaks and new features.

Yeah it was cancelled and picked up again and looks like they didn't make the game F2P as they promised.
No one has been able to get this niche genre right since Motor City Online did it back 01-02. I think what all these new MMO style racing games lack is the RPG and social element that MCO had back in the day. Yes Motor City Online had a very short life span but I personally believe the game was way ahead of its time and suffered from people not having the tech or the internet speed to play the game properly. I mean , hell, They use to advertise MCO in Car driver and other Car magazines, Most of the player base were gear heads first gamers second trying to run this game on early 2000's budget gateway or dell PC.
Id love to see the MMO racing genre done right . Although it would appeal to a very niche audience i do believe if done correctly it could be extremely successful. Car racing , Car building, Car customization, rare skins and models, auctions and of course car clubs ie guilds. It has to be more than just racing.
