Sometimes I wonder, will this game be ever released?
It's first ever playable version released in late 2013: Currently it's in active development, both Star Citizen (mmorpg) and Squadron 42 (single-player campaign) have plenty of footage around if you scavenge youtube: Don't buy it now if it's a finished game to play and enjoy you're after. Pledge (not buy) only if you want to support the project.
Ah and Ignore the usual haters, they are just sad IRL and need to vent somehow
Cyberpunk 2077 = all talk, 6 years now + they already had a studio and staff unlike CIG yet no one whines like you. Seems the only mistake they did was giving access to the developement to idiot backers and larger idiot audience that know nothing about game developing.
People will wait 10 years for a book series without complaint. But when a developer tries to create a gaming experience that many of us have dreamed of he's a fraud. Those sane individuals bitch and moan when games are rushed, lacking in features. If 2020 is the release date, so be it.

The team creating Cyberpunk has inifinitely more "street cred" than CIG.
Delays from teams with a reputation of releasing high-quality titles are not comparable with a startup team with no background of having ever released a title together. Not only that, but the project lead hasn't exactly been a hugely influential entity in modern gaming. It's been, what, well over a decade since he was involved with a video game release?

Witcher 3 was released less than 3 years ago, gained 97% positive Steam reviews, and has been in Steam's top 12 revenue list every year since it was released. It's been less than 2 years since their last expansion for Witcher 3 launched.
I'd say CD Projekt Red has a pretty damn good excuse for why most of their dev team has been busy with other things than Cyberpunk 2077.
The replies in any SC thread are not productive at all. It's always the same people arguing. Dont get me wrong, it's definitely entertaining. I just never learn anything lol.

There's also the matter of how CD Projekt Red won't start taking money in for Cyberpunk 2077 from players, until it's at least legitimately about ready to be released, not years, or maybe decades before like CIG has been.

Remember that Cyberpunk is in prod. since before Witcher 3 and no one complained then. So your reputation argument fails here.

So you're ignoring Witcher's one and two, which also were well-received?
EDIT- and this ignored that CDPR isn't trying to get their fans to pay for the development because they can't find a publisher to support them.

I respect Minecraft a little more since they made millions by selling an actual game, not pictures of blocks you could one day use.
I'm sure Star Citizen will be amazing if it finishes in the next decade, probably be the same time DayZ standalone leaves early access.
