@wizardry total agree with you here. In City of Heroes, we have large events and it brought everyone into the game several times a month. We played with and against the NPCs. In COH, the NPCs were the NCSOFT devs. It was a hoot!
So the story and the rp is the only reason to play this mmorpg or it has compelling end game content?
Only play for the story no end game at all really most people stopped playing that were what tradition MMO's call endgame which is raiding. The dailies/weeklies are OK but you can burn thru them in a day then really have nothing to do.

How exactly does SWTOR copy WoW ? SWTOR was all about Empire vs Republic up to the Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion. After Knights of the Eternal Throne it makes only sense that the Republic and the Empire go at each others throat again.

Anyway yes this is Good news as I was giving up hope that we would ever get back to the central issue. I always thought it was weird that I the All Powerful Darth Nova would work with the republic for anything.

All the boosted character they gave out just for those latest expansions were useless after you did the story. My account has two unused character boost on it just sitting there because you can't do class story's on them and no one wants to replay those expansion stories on an alt. If they are going back to the way the faction story was they should let you do the class stories on those boosted characters too. The game does have level scaling too.
I'm looking forward to a new expansion. I only wish we would get at least a few new advanced classes. I want a double-bladed lightsaber Sith Warrior. I'd even settle with one that uses that lightsaber polearm Senya has. Duel wielding Sith inquisitor as well please . I know this is a pipe dream, but I can always hope.

When Blizzard & some other Companies Deliver Roadmaps it's at least to Half A Year Forward. Shameful Big IP MMO Treatment With Many Ways by Eaware for 2+ Years now Including Shameful Work via their Microtransactions a.k.a Real Cash In Game Store. Luring in Easily Gullible Fragile Minded people to empty their wallets for Pixel weapons & Mounts. Ones that have 25€ - 50€ Price Tags..

Don't have to worry all that much about SWG v TOR. There's probably more people playing the SWGEMUs than there are playing TOR. For sure, there's a boat-load more servers out there for SWGEMUs (pre-CU and NGE) than TOR's 2 US and 3 euro.
And, that's pretty sad knowing that EA had SWG shut down so TOR could "flourish".
The WoW part comes in with the making of WoW with lightsabers, the ultimate NGE. If we wanted to play WoW, we'd play WoW, not just a different skin with voices.

Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine a company messing up a endless universe of story epic content and destroying it the way Blowware and EA have done to this game, I spent many many many hours in this game met some outstanding players and not one of them play now due to the same dungeons just a harder version same ole raids just a harder verison battlegrounds I am sure nothing has changed there maybe one new I think the crates and cartel market a money laundering fiasco. Please Blowware and EA sell this game to someone who can make it into the best mmo everah PLEASE!!!!!
Lies, Lies and more Lies. How is bioware going to do Empire vs. Republic? They've killed off all the leaders. Marr, Acina, Malcolm, and others all dead or in the wilderness! We all know they haven't been building lots of content for this game.
