Every company today wants to create their own platform to sell things and make some extra profit which sounds good on paper, but in reality how many people are going to really use this. I know I will not personally because I already use steam, GOG, ect... or any one of the other platforms already out. To late to the party, don't need my games spread out across 100 didn't platforms. To top it off if that pic is an actual screenshot then they are ripping people off right from the start by pricing games higher than other services are already offering.

But why? They're 10 years+ late to the market? No one is going to switch over just to have multiple clients running to access their games.

Razer annoys me. I quit buying their products when they were forcing the use of their Cloud bs in order to get drivers etc... It's a mouse... Why do I need an Online profile / updater? To help us? Probably not. Probably to harvest as much information from us for 3rd party sales.

Did you not read the article? It's literally just a store providing keys for Steam and Uplay, which means yes they do have workshop.

Razer wants to sell you Far Cry 5 for $70 when you can buy it direct from Ubisoft for $60?  Yeah, I'll get right on that.

I agree, that made me angry. Yet I love the mouse so I tolerate that crap. Someone there should be slapped for that.

Far cry from Ubisoft is 59.99 vs the razer store which is $53.99. The other Far Cry games are less than what you would find on the other sites. So for example, Far Cry Primal on Ubisoft is $39, on Steam is $49 and on Razer store is $29.

Clearly they made a deal to be able to knock off a few dollars as well as give credits to their own products.

They're just having a launch sale. Their normal price for Far Cry games looks like to be about the same as Ubisoft Store and Steam have.

So they partner with Steam/Valve.without seeing actual contract numbers that we will never see,i'll assume around 1-2% to share in valve's /Uplay profits by being basically just another marketing outlet,a store front for those two entities.

I always love the REWARDS term used by marketing.I just saw a HR block in bold $200 reward for inviting friends, small print max $25 per friend. So this reward will be what likely the typical 5% also likely agreed upon with Steam and Uplay.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

This is just a store so no big deal. However, i believe this is their first step towards implementing another game launcher in the future. I don't need to use another store unless they offer better deals than the competition.

On PC i get good deals on Steam, GoG, Greenman Gaming, and Humble Bundle. If Razer gets really competitive during holidays sales then i could give it a try. On PC i only care about deep sales.

They have Ghost Recon Wildlands on sale for $19.80 while it is still $59.99 on both steam and ubisoft store I might just pick this up with Sam Fisher coming to the game. Just wish it was for a steam key and not ubisoft store.

I wonder how much money steam saves by offering cheaper keys to outlets like this and GMG as there are no easy refunds through them as opposed to steams easy refund process.

They don't. They receive so much less money per each key that sales directly through their own store is better.

But people often decide to buy a game because they see it on store, so every store they get their game on will increase their number of copies sold.

Yes but you won't get your zSilver or zGold if you buy directly from Ubisoft. Look, its got a little "z" in front of the word, sooo cool, we have to get some.

Glad I waited a bit as it is now on sale on steam for $19.80.

Why buy it from steam when you can buy a steam key from some random 3rd party to apply to your steam account. Huh?
