We all know the Maple Story 2 CBT has started and, as a long time player of the first MapleStory, I was lucky enough to get the chance to play this and write my impressions. I'm going to give you a rundown of my thoughts and things I noticed in the beta.

i see other character like saitama, the guy from tokyo ghoul, homer simpson ,the constumisasion is infinite

This game is what Tree of Savior should have been like. This game structure + Tree of Savior's theme would have been amazing.

Been playing the beta as well, it's pretty dang fun, and the little mini games as a break in hunting is good since you still get experience

It really does seem to be an evolution on the previous iteration. I'm excited for the release and I never thought I would be for a MS game lol.

i had trouble with the KB&M controls in maple story 1. used to WASD i guess. Do you testers play with a control and if so how do you like it? or are the KBM controls customizable to make them more to your liking?

I know there are two modes for the controls, along with gamepad support, there is classic mode which is just like regular MapleStory then there is a modern mode where you use WASD and mouse

i haven't played myself but watching streamers play, controller input is smooth and works very nicely, similar to how it worked very well in Tree of Savior if you played that w/ controller

The only thing ToS is lacking is a competent company and dev team, the project itself was good enough, at least what was proposed during 2nd CBT by Mr. Kim.

Now we only got another half-made cash grab-wannabe game.

And they don't wake up, despite the population drop and complains at their official forums.

I feel sad for a good project die from a "cancer" (the company) so earlier.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back on topic, I missed the beta invitation time, too bad, I saw 2 days ago a friend streaming it, I found the mini-games the most fun part of the game.

Since it still beta, I think this one have a great potential, now as for how it will be used, only the future will show us.

Not everyone will be pleased tho, I don't mind the graphics, as long as it provide the right amount of fun for me lol.

Heck I even have lots of fun with Hero Siege (not MMO but still) and it's pixel 2d graphics.

They've said that xp gain is very exaggerated in beta so that players can explore more content faster and test for bugs.

Can we all appreciate that Nexon didn't do a founders pack foolishness for the Closed Beta and infact went old school to the RNG of just simply getting invited. Tired of paying for half baked games and ports

One of the things I'm afraid of is that same old shit of timed items, I remember them on MS1 and it was the main thing that took me away from MS1, not sure how it is now tho, it's been almost 7 or more years since I last played MS1.

I would even accept the item be char bound as long as it's permanent, but timed no.

For some reason that's extremely common in F2P games. The weird thing about MS1 was that the timed items were purchased in the cash shop as well, which made 0 sense. If I'm paying for a cosmetic, I'm not going to want to buy it every 30 days.

That is what I meant, the ones we use $ being timed for me is absurd, I do understand if it was a freebie from an event tho.

i will forever blame the morons who spend money on stuff like that over blaming the company for listing them.
