I am not really kin into investing in this game since from the recent reviews i read , the game is pretty much the same as it was 1 year ago but whit some ok quality of life improvements. Anyone know if i can get this game discounted anywhere? pm
The game is great now, way better than a year ago from what I understand. There aren't so many bugs (not saying they are bug free, but there just hasn't been too many I've encountered). You can find it at a discount on some sites that people consider grey area (I got my copy for 24 dollars) but I don't know if you want to support that type of thing.
They should focus on fixing the massive memory usage and whatever is causing stuttering and freezing to so many people on PC, me included. From what i hear it started happening after the Purge update.
Surprising, I Had those issues during Early Access but since official launch the game has ran smooth as butter
Ive seen some people streaming with no issues, but the same problems i have are all over Funcom's forums. They said they are investigating but that's about it. I hope they can address it because i'm loving the game, but it gets unplayable after a while. EDIT: and i'm playing single player which is even more weird this happens.
If it was only me I would think my PC cant even handle a single player server, but many people with the same issue, people with beast machines, something is not right.
Been having a blast on the most populated private server NA, with a group of 7. We would have loved to have played on an official server, but a 40 cap is too small to interest me.

How large can a private server be?

Are the other players with issues on single player as well? That does sound odd.

from what i've read some people experiencing it are playing multiplayer only. I haven't tried multiplayer myself.
Won't help clear out the overpopulated servers everyone has characters on.
blah blah, blah blah, blah blah.......I'm a special snowflake give me a cookie.
I started over twice. I am not going to try to play between 3 characters... Or another, so in the off chance A slot opens up, the game doesn't crash logging in, and my computer loads in before anyone else.
Sure, it's a survival game but starting off with nothing working your way up, to just start over again is not enjoyable, unless of course your idea of fun is choosing your characters penis size.

it looks like the game is way more demanding than the system requirements say. My PC can run this game on Ultra but i have to keep most settings on low and some stuff like textures on medium in order to keep RAM usage below 7GB. I have 8GB total and when the game hits above 7GB the game crashes and i have to reboot the PC. But even when is using 5-6GB of RAM in low settings performance gets worse the longer i play.

I don't know how people start over after investing massive amounts of time into a game, for me that is and has never been a option. I had a short discussion with someone else the other day in a thread about classic/vanilla wow. He could not comprehend that i quit private vanilla servers because id rather wait for the official blizzard servers even if it takes 2 years before they release them. To me its not fun investing 100's sometimes 1000's of hours into a character and then starting from scratch all over again. One of the reasons I always come back to WOW every expansion regardless of how shitty it is , is because i know my character iv been playing since 2006 is there and waiting....For me, the Journey is great the FIRST TIME & thats it, as you can guess iv never been a fan of "Alts"
Long story short there is no way in hell im restarting on another server even if that means i cant play from 8-12 every night for the next month.
Well... I don't think one is supposed to play survival games (not that I know from actually trying one) with any sort of expectation of persistence.
Getting wiped and starting over is part of the experience, in fact long ago I thought the official servers were going to be wiped / reset regularly.
Or was that only the plan in EA and now they will rely on the Purge to handle it?
I think The Purge is PvE content for existing players, the Ruin system takes care of old bases.

That isn't "demanding".....that is a memory leak.
I am not sure what Rojo's problem is, but if its single player and there are not a lot of other players doing solo saying they have a problem, it must be your machine or connection?

after last update (today or last night?) my problems are significantly reduced, as long as i keep the settings low-medium. If i crank them up to high or ultra it goes back to constant freezing and/or stuttering. But the experience after this update showed that whatever is going on is something they can fix on their end.
My internet connection is strong and fast so that's not the issue. As for my machine, i can't say for sure. I do have to upgrade soon but i don't have any issues with much more demanding games, both online and offline games. Only Conan Exiles has this issues for me.
EDIT: Just noticed that every time if freezes i see a sudden deep drop in frame rate for a fraction of a second. And it does it constantly.
EDIT2: nevermind, after a few hours of non stop playing RAM went back up to 7GB usage and quite unplayable.
Is this a crafting game, or what people call survival games? If not, does it have any rpg elements? Someone told me when this first came out that it had some minor stat increases but no other rpg character development systems but where going to add some actual significant ones on par with AoC. Did this happen? Thank you for any information.
There are no friendly NPC's to interact with for the most part but plenty that want to kill you. Along with the dozens of aggresive animals primitives etc. there are no shortages of ways to die. There is allot of room for roleplaying in either solo or mulitiplayer. There is allot to keep you busy in this game and allot to explore and learn
Thank you for the reply but that didn't answer either of my questions at all even a little.

Well, your typical RPG has quest givers and quests, so those RPG elements are not there I believe was the point. It is a crafting game, you do level up and chose where to spend your stat and crafting points. The way you spend your stat points can make you better in different aspects of combat, survival or harvesting. There are actually a handful of NPCs to talk to and about the same number of mini-dungeons with item and recipe rewards. Apparently, there is now a way to actually win too! Does that answer your questions?
