imagePlayers Being Offered Weeklong Prime Trial - Rift - MMORPG.com

Rift News - From now through June 7th, Trion Worlds is offering a 7-day free trial on the Rift Prime progression server. It is unclear who can claim the offer, though it is probable that it is on offer to those who are or have been Patron members in the past. Players can download and try the game for a week's worth of time without any restrictions on the account.

    I'm not sure if it's so much that it's dying. Or just Trion being proactive. Next week Bless Online releases in North America. And with the current content drought in all but ESO (which isn't liked by everyone) there's a lot of people looking to play anything new. So Trion might be hoping to snag people who haven't locked themselves in with a pre-order of Bless to come back to, or check out, Rift.

    Left Prime after a month. Seems I forgot that Rift wasn't that great to begin with.

    Went back to LotRO with everything happening there and having a blast.

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    It's marketing, that thing companies do to try to spark interest in their offerings. For  profit companies do such routinely.

    Any other interpretation is more a commentary on the indefatigable negativity that seems to always find a welcoming home on game forums.

    There are plenty of genuine complaints one can make about Rift and Trion in general, but marketing their wares isn't one of them.

    It is simply part of doing business.
