If you believe the Big Bang theory, then technically every outcome was determined at that exact instance. The creation of planets, lifeforms, and even the chemical and neurological changes through interacting with other individuals could have been mathematically calculated.
That would make this reality less of an MMO and more of a simulation.
Quantum mechanics says otherwise.
That's true, but the haze of probability of quantum mechanics is through a lack of understanding, not governing laws. I also don't believe in the Big Bang, so.
It's not a question of belief; it's a model that explains a wide variety of observable phenomena, and FWIW the "hidden variable" critique of QM (which I believe you are referring to) was proven false.

It touches on a dazzling array of fascinating topics, and has greatly helped me.

1. Would it change your outlook on life or would you continue what you are doing?
2. Would you change the setting and settings if you could once and to what?
There have been a few movies on this very subject matter.
The Thirteenth Floor, was a really good example of the different ways this could affect people.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.
I was always curious that doesn't the big bang theory imply a creator of some sort? One event that created existence as we know it.
There are many stream of thoughts within Big Bang Theorists themselves.
One even involved a Big Crunch and Big Bang cycle (kinda like the universe's cycle described in Buddhism/Hinduism creation myths).
The Big Bang / Big Crunch cycle is probably a bug some junior programmer introduced in the main game loop. Somewhere, some player is nerd raging because his game just won't end.
There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own. -- Herman Melville
If science says that we're living in an MMORPG, I would announce that I've proven that science is wrong. A large fraction of published research in many fields is simply wrong, so what makes this study any exception?
I believe the simulation argument was largely inspired by The Matrix (which was inspired by everyone from Gibson to Descartes to Plato) so your intuition is no accident, but I think the simulation argument as Dr. Bostrom puts forward is worth understanding and contemplating at least once... it leads to many interesting corollaries.

I believed in the possibility that reality wasn't real when I was elementary school. My inspiration came from the Terminator. There was no way I could prove people who left my sight weren't actors or machines.
After that concluded that everything could be fake.
All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts.
Perhaps the advanced soul who created the Shakespeare Avatar was trying to tell us something.

OK, now that's much better. Bostrum has a more well-formed theory and also respects the mantra "correlation does not imply causation," which the previous video ignores, either to pacify the geek-crowd or for comedic effect, or both.

If we're living in a simulation, then what about the universe that houses our simulation? Is it also a simulation in some other, larger universe? While simulations can and do exist, there has to be some underlying base world that isn't itself a simulation, doesn't there?

Gut Out!
What, me worry?
If you are interested in making a MMO maybe visit my page to get a free open source engine.
I was actually giving the video some credit until the narrator said, Elon Musk..." and then my bullshit meter went off.
