Great news for the Diablo fans who own a Switch...  For the roughly 86% of Diablo fans who don't: better luck next week!

I gotta wonder how much the Asian market fueled this port.  From what I understand, the Switch is much more popular in the Asian markets than here in America (assuming you're in America only because I have no other info to suggest somewhere else).

Unless the ESA classifies the switch as something other than a dedicated handheld device, their 2018 report suggests it's a small portion of American gamers.  Not that there's anything wrong with it, just that it would be surprising if Activision was really somehow pursuaded to let Blizzard pursue not just one niche endeavor (Classic), but two.

It combines the tiny screen of a smartphone with the awfulness of a controller like peripheral, what's not to love? :)

Woot! Now the Switch has a game that came out in 2012... Well, maybe there's someone who has a Switch that will find the game more enjoyable than I did.

Everyone wants to be on the Switch. For some big players it's about being part of the platform and presence, not just making revenue back. This is like Skyrim and DOOM, plus mobile D3. Awesome!

Now I just need a Switch lol.  I didn't expect the console to be this big, but I'm fairly certain it will end up being bigger than the DS series.
Could be.  I mean it isn't like they built a title from the ground up, so costs weren't enormous.  Activision just hadn't really seemed that interested in things like Classic or Switch games before recently.  I'm wondering how much Blizzard played a part in getting both projects off the ground!

"Portable" as long as you have access to a Wi-Fi connection since Switch doesn't have cell phone access. makes me think the 2 playing in the car are playing local co-op? Can I play off-line? Also, Diablo 3 Requires a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription for Online Co-Op.

I am Dutch actually but MadDutchie just doesn't have that vibe.

I am not so sure about Asian focussed though, as far as I know the Switch is wildly popular in Europe too, its a massive hit worldwide.

There's not enough unique games on the Switch to convince me to get one yet. A few exclusive jRPG's look alright but it's not enough.

Playing Nintendo just looks like being about 5 years behind everyone else in terms of game choice and technical capabilities.

The portable aspect isn't something that I'm interested in. I'd only use it if I was travelling and I don't do that enough to make it worthwhile. Where I'm from, North England, you don't see anyone over the age of 10 playing on portable consoles, not even on a train journey. It's just not a thing. Maybe it's different in Asian countries, don't know...

Just getting it to experience Zelda: Breath of the Wild is enough of a justification lol. Then you have Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Cronicles 2 which are also really good exclusive games. Just an example.
Playing Skyrim in handheld mode is also pretty awesome! It runs really well. It's the latest enhanced special edition including all DLC.

I play mostly Docked and some times relaxing in bed in the evening and play an hour or so in handheld mode. So I don't take the Switch out of the house much either.

Having the full game on a cartridge with no internet required for single player or Co OP (even separate switches) are major selling points. I got my pc d3 free with MoP and will likely never play that version again if I have it on Switch.

My apologies then!  And thanks for the info, I didn't know it was a popular device in Europe.

Those two markets alone could make it profitable for Blizzard considering the costs for making the game itself have already been recouped.
