Ah, Black Desert Online. Such a pretty game but oh so shallow and boring.

Always thought the game looked silly. However, for those that play it I hope the upgrade adds value to the game play

But is it optimized better? THAT is the true question, not whether or not it looks better.

Instead of implementing more alternatives to offset the endless grind or utter lack of pve outside of lifeskills. They invested money into increasing the already high graphics to another level. The existing graphics can't be attained by the majority of the playerbase....so why did they do this?

Because their target market is not the U.S. where the vast majority of players use personal devices at home. It's south-east asia, western europe, south africa, and south america. Where the majority of players go to internet cafe's for pc gaming and generally prefer grind-focused games over story. Which one of Kakao's leading investors happens to have considerable financial investments into internet cafe's. By upping the graphics even further, they're ensuring that players will continue to attend internet cafe's to play the game. Instead of piecing together a rig that can play it on moderate/low settings. This whole thing is just to extend the shelf-life of the game without adding any actual depth to it. I won't financially support such a wasted financial opportunity.

Still a mega server with tons of channels, still can't war half the guilds in the game, still crappy karma system..., but great combat and graphics,....to bad they ruined the game with the first things listed, remaster that and I'd play.

I got one question for you Black Desert... Why?

I am not a regular player of this game but from what i've heard from the clear complains of their community.

Why focus on improving the graphics of a game that already has decent (arguably good) graphics, when there are many other problems that the game has that they haven't been fixed?

I thought the game was amazingly optimised and looked fantastic. If any game didn't need a remaster it was this one.

    Hate the actual 'game' though.

I wish I could play this game. But I'm old and my hands don't work as well as they used to. So that awful action combat is a no-go for me.

When I was playing this game I was heavily into trading and I enjoyed it immensely and I enjoyed travelling around the countryside in my wagons and I am sure if I was still playing this upgrade would have pleased me a lot since I spent so much of it travelling and looking at the scenery.

So SA players will be doomed, 95% of our computers are crappy. Fortunately I was able to save lots of moneys last year and bought a super top rig.

What surprises me is that they didn't do one of their sales during this period.

Actually yes... as in having a lot of features but the game itself has no depth. Kind of follows the whole philosophy of, "A mile wide and an inch deep"
A game with little content and little activities are shallow, a game with plenty of content and plenty of activities are also shallow? this site and It's members are never happy.
Besides, the word "depth" are such a broad definition so It's hard to define it.

I found the workers , resource gathering together with trading, breeding horses and farming surprisingly deep. I think people only focus on what they like while condemning this game forgetting there are many aspects that are both interesting and enjoyable.

Just a big WTF from me.

The NA release was march 3 2016 the game is just a little over 2 years old here. I just don't get it. Hell it was 2014 when it released in Korea. The game is 4 years old, the graphics were fine, how did anyone think this needed a remaster?

I think it's more of an advertising gimmick than anything. I see the ad for it on this site and just think WTF.
