Nice I enjoy some of their Sherlock Holmes games, taking such mechanics and bringing in a true open world experience could be quite unique.

    The Sinking City

“We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of the infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.”
    — H.P. Lovecraft, “The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories”

The Sinking City is a game of investigation and mystery taking place in a fictional open world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft.

The player steps into the shoes of a 1920s private investigator who finds himself in the city of Oakmont Massachusetts, New England. A city suffering from unprecedented floods  of clearly supernatural origins. A city trembling on the brink of madness.

Can you survive this beleaguered town and untangle the mysteries responsible for its tragic situation or will you be driven beyond madness yourself?

The Sinking City. Our open world, investigation, Lovecraftian game. Yes, that’s correct: Open World, Investigation and Lovecraft.

It will be bigger than anything we’ve ever made and we feel that opening up –freeing– the investigations in a whole city is the right next step for us. We also believe that Lovecraft’s universe and the Cthulhu Mythos are exactly what we should base our game on.

The Lovecraftian/Cthulhian setting has been dear to us for years. In 2016, we’ll celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened launch. The launch of a Sherlockian/Lovecraftian adventure, and a game that was regarded as a milestone in narrative adventure gaming.

We are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to innovate with the games we love. We hope you’ll also like what you’ll see.

God, I hope they have a better combat system then TSW...

There is a clue in the picture: Investigation. Think puzzle focus rather than combat focus.

    Speaking of puzzles and Lovecraft:

tentacles, tentacles, the tentacles return; the Day of the Tentacles is upon us!

This looks pretty damned cool. I wonder if they'll have a Lovecraftian version of "Creepy Watson".
LMAO, I didn't know what that was so I searched Creepy Watson, those videos are F'n hilarious.

This has potential. I'd love to see a console release as well.

Looks interesting, though more adventure/puzzle type game. The lines continue to blur between genres which is always nice to see. :)

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hmmm....I disagree. I want defined lines.

Same way I like the girls I date not to have...extra bits.

As being a huge Lovecraft fan, i've read a few books on chaos magick, grimoires on cthulhu and the chaosphere, it's nice to know that there are devs who are into this kind of stuff. I love how games allow us to illustrate the book worlds in physical sight. Thanks for the share  >:)

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'
