If you're looking for brutal Viking action, RUNE has your back. The open-world Viking-themed RPG will be launching into Early Access on September 19th. From now through EA launch, interested players can leverage at 15% discount. RUNE is the "spiritual successor" to Rune Classic, but one where the team is "pushing even further [the boundaries of PvP] with intense, brutal combat mechanics not often seen in these types of games," said Project Lead Chris Rhinehart.

    The PvP kills this game for me. I just checked out the official site and the open world survival sandbox sounded really appealing. Until I got to the bit about brutal PvP combat and having your base destroyed. Why the hell can't PvE players be catered to as well? I couldn't give a stuff about PvP combat (or PvE combat for that matter), I'd rather just be a humble farmer and crafter, making a simple life for myself. But NOOOO such gameplay is considered perverse. There are so many of these survival sandbox games that I'd love to play, but I'll never touch them because of this PvP bullshit!

    From their website-
    "Cooperative PvE multiplayer allows you to form clans with your friends to raid, loot, and end Ragnarok together. Or, engage in brutal PvP combat and destroy your enemy’s base. Regardless of your chosen path, it is up to you to defeat giants, dragons, beasts, and the undead to end Ragnarok. "

    Sounds like players have a choice whether they want to co-op pve or pvp.

    Cool, I had Rune for the ps2 I believe does it have a key?

    this video has more dislikes than likes, hopefully game has improved its combat mechanics in the last 6 months.

    Theres a short closed beta test this tuesday but I didnt mention it earlier because a friend applied but was too late for tuesday cbt but his email said they would send a key for the next one in December.
    I didnt apply because my gpu is a gtx660 and the questionaire says minimum is gt760 and up. 

    Heres the link if anyone wants to apply for the next one, seems its not too hard to get in if apply in time.
