Funny thing is, it isn't even a pure necro. I looked through and there are consistent posts, a few to a dozen or so every year since 2013. This is more like some wierd Methuselah thread.
man i clicked to the 1st page and i read "age of conan" several times and i'm like what the...oh the date! nice necro but to answer since i'm here been playing a ton of ESO lately. hoping to ride it to FO '76
Interloping through the galaxy as a Traveller in No Man's Sky. Great community.
Ditto . . . at a very slow pace . . . always want to get all the major points of interest on a planet, and I always think I'll find a better place to make my main base. 30+ hours in and I still haven't made any higher level refiners XD
A Google Search can bring up a lot of very old mmorpg.com threads. But if it's what I needed information about then so be it.

Just started playing Boundless. A fun exploration/crafting game MMO. The biggest shocker.... The community isn't toxic. They're helpful and disagree with courtesy. I felt like I really was on an alien world.
I just want to say that I typed Boundless on google and the first result is an Christian dating site. No judgement.
Lol, try boundless mmo. Much better result... Although......
Just finished up XCom 2: War of the Chosen. I'm seriously thinking about giving an iron man run another shot (on veteran) for vanilla XCom 2.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR

I've got to get back to playing it.....
How does one interact with the community, in my starter planet run through I saw no evidence of others in the universe.
Was kinda lonely, in FO4 I've got npc companions and faction leaders regularly communicating with me, (heck, even the generic "settlers" are always chatting it up with their thoughts and problems) and its a single player game.
Perhaps when I finally launch into space it will become more apparent?

I've got Warframe and Lotro installed at the moment.
I just tried Two Worlds II but it was so horrible that it didn't last long.. no one has any business playing that garbage when there's plenty of better RPGs out there that they probably haven't played.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

The chance of randomly meeting someone else in the universe is pretty slim I believe. A friend of mine plays from China and as soon as he enables network people will pop into his game. They are never friendly types though it seems. I don't think I've ever had someone randomly join my game.
As far as NPCs they are all over, in the stations, on freighters, and planetary structures. The story will introduce you to other travelers. I've only ever caught up to one to find his grave so far though.
Once you build a base and do the missions you can get up to five specialists who will move in that have their own base building storyline that is required to proceed with the main storyline as well.
I've played a bit with some friends and it seems more of a novelty than to serve any actual purpose or to be useful, unfortunately. My wish list for the game would definitely include a more co-op group option. With shared bases and freighter.
Funnily enough all the shenanigans regarding Anet reignited my interest for Guild Wars 2. Even purchased the latest expansion, though with all the content prior to that, I haven't managed to reach that point of my personal story just yet.
I've been giving Banished a bit of time lately. Still trying to get the "hang of it." It's frustrating at times, but I keep at it. My people will thrive! (eventually...)
