Couldnt of said it better my self, there are some bugs, but the most reported issue is lag and that will be gone on release, so if the bugs bother u might wanna wait till they patch them.  And the missions r a little repetative but its the community that games the game wut it is.

;)

matrix is alright, but i mean if it wasn't licensed as the matrix no one would be interested in it

While it may not be the best game ever... it did go a long way in curing my insomnia. For that, I thank it.

Actually my experience is much different from the origional authors..  The game is very very buggy, the quests are bland, the tutorial doesn't tell you how to level up your skills. The gun combat is horrendously lame, the "Cool Matrix Kung Fu" is overshadowed by the randomness of pressing different combat buttons but never having an explanation of what each combat move actually does.  And no the game does not have better graphics than WoW or EQ2.. It's graphics are about as bad as a low budget FPS...  Attempting to strafe move makes the screen pop around all over.

"The best game ever" is readlly crappy, and should go back into development because it's gonna fail like planetside...

ive played MxO.. the community is fantastic, or rather www.radiofreezion.com is fantastic
the GAME is buggy as hell.
i had to do most of my quests twice or three times to get the mission done, because id try going though a door way with no door, but it wouldent let me, so it clipped onto me and i ended up "rubber band lagged on the door.
or a door wouldent let me select it
or i turn up and the npc i need to talk to isnt in the house.
sometimes i could do one of a few "rituals" that people thought up to help the situation.
like running out of the building (provided im not stuck) and into anouther district, then back to my mission again, which would sometimes work.. but comeon! why should i have to run two city blocks in the game just because some stupid door didnt load properly :/
or tons of other annoying little problems that drove me nuts
especally the fact, as a male player and a male charicter within the matrix, an agent gave me a female leather catsuit as a reward for being a loyal machineist .. pretty powerfull bit of clothing too.. >.<

the combat system seemed to once in awhile freeze me up when i was fighting mass amounts of agents, so i spent the better part of twenty mins stuck in the same location just useing a machine gun to try and hit an agent.
the AI for the game is also pretty stupid, i can win allmost every mission solo for the fact i could open a door, stand on one side of the room, and shoot who ever i liked, as soon as i was in trouble i side step to the wall, or close the door, heal myself (even the basic 1st level heal works great till around level 10) and then open the door and start fireing again, the enemy at the same amount of health i left them before i closed the door.
youd think they'd have the sence to either A heal, or B come after me.

however

the fact most people playing have watched the movies, means they are more inclined to roleplay with eachother and especally charicters like morpheius and seraph for example,
than roleplay in a differnt game where the backstory isnt in the form of three popular movies.

i also liked the charicter customiseation, i never saw someone like me.. granted i wasnt wearing a trenchcoat so that put me at an advantage.
and my female charicter looked like a french art goth student, and i definatly never saw anyone that looked like her in the game... might of been the cabbie hat that done that though,

i enjoyed the game for beta, but im glad i didnt buy it.
mabey, mabey in a few months when they have the clipping and quest bugs ironed out, i might pay to play it.
im sick of playing buggy games that should work better but dont -_-
if i wanted that id be playing WoW with my warrior bug capped at 225 cooking and firstaid

The game imho royally sux...

I played in the beta and could only stand about an hour or 2 of it then I never logged back in.

The interlock system sux, cant area fight, or couldnt when I was playing, it just goes into combat between you and ur opponent. Graphics are decent but the game design could have been made much much better, good movies, kinda dissappoints me to see such a great concept go to utter crap in design.

I personally would not recommend this game to anyone, in fact I have told my friends to not get this and stick to other games, such as wow, or swg, or Guild wars.

Wells the games out now, see it for your self, the servers are runnin fast, the missions now have minor bugs, and radio free zion now has 3 streams of your choice of music(as well as in game media player).  So this is probably the last posting ill put up, play for your self, ignore the sceptics and give it a try.  If you dont like it, dont play =p thx for posting on this topic peeps.

i played the last few weeks of beta, and am playing live.  the mission bugs are for the most part fixed that i have seen (compared to how they were in beta).  My server Proxy is a high population server and I dont have any lag complaints (1 gig of RAM from my SWG experience).

Hyper jump gives me trouble sometimes, i hit the hyperjump button, get my jump cursor and start looking around for a landing spot, panning left and then it gets stuck and keeps moving.  Being able to hyper jump out of trouble is very necessary as you move into the harder areas of mega city.  Last night I was in the international district with a higher level friend and I was tagging the access nodes i had keys for and getting the hardlines, the last hardline I got was swarmed with gang members, i attempted to hyper jump out of the fray; my hyperjump cursor got stuck and I was killed no big deal but after i died my cursor stayed the jump cursor and I couldnt rez.  I couldnt do anything so I had to hard boot.  When I restarted my pointer is frozen still.  I have to try my old mouse ( was using a cordless) and hope i can unfreeze my mouse pointer.  I restarted my machine about 5 times didnt help, unplugged and replugged my mouse, got to deal with that when i get home today :(

Combat

combat is really good in MxO.  either ranged or interlock works well.  I love collecting codes and have kung-fu, karate, and akido along with handguns, submachine guns, and rifles.  I tried all three and decided on karate and have since advanced it more than the other 2.  I can load dual handguns and dual submachine guns.  I find both martial arts and gunman to be very effective, even in interlock.  I love doing interlock with the dual submachine guns, the moves are very stylish!!  Ranged free fire combat is cool to, pick a target and shoot; a timer on your ranged weapon button starts ticking and when its done you will shoot again as long as you are standing still and are in range.  This works great to kite or pull enemies away from their groups and to shoot enemies in mission areas through doorways.

Story

well the story started unfolding with last weeks live event "the race for the One"; seems there is a 4th party (the basic 3 are the zionists, merovingians, and the machines) who is trying to break down the truce.  Now there are these N3O AG3NTS (neo agents) who are running around but I'm not sure whats up with them yet.  Time will tell no doubt.

its a pretty cool game, has some really fresh ideas ( i like the combat system) we will see where the story goes.  PVP is very good, nice system there.

Overall i like it; i havent logged on SWG since i started playing it anyway....
What other MMO has its own radio station?  In game parties every friday night curtiosy of radio free zion.
Anarchy Online has 2 radio stations that play songs exclusively for the "virtual parties" and the DJs actualy talk to ingame characters (both via chat and the radio) and make requests.
One of them is called GridStream, and the other, I forgot.

So, nothing new there.
